Vers is a company committed to making and distributing hand crafted products, whether they’re hard wood casings for your iPhone, or, like the product in question, these energy efficient speakers for your iPod.
Stylish and compact, the Vers 2x Sound System makes it easier for you to fill up a room with music rather than unwanted stereo space. Deceptively retro yet refreshingly modern, the product comes in a variety of different colors and styles. Personal favorites are Natural Cherry and Dark Walnut (the names alone sound so GQ).
We’ve got another fun Vampire Weekend video chatfest, and two more great holiday gift items, just in time for your sassy mad holiday shopping weekend. Check ‘em out below.

The
Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF), a non-profit org founded by big gay music legend Sir Elton John, teamed up with Candela to create a spice-scented holiday candle that is sold exclusively at Macy’s.
The candle sheds light on the important issue of combating HIV/AIDS.
EJAF has been working hard in the fight against AIDS since the org established in ‘92.
Buying this candle will not only brighten up your Christmas, but it will help take the fight to the next level.
Candles are $25 and a percentage of each sale is donated to EJAF.

Here’s more details about some high-fashion-book reading and some sweet pooch art.

The self-titled hard cover debut book by Maison Martin Margiela, this documents the works of the influential Paris-based designer, offering pictures by Margiela himself of his production in fashion, design, art and performance.

Long elusive to the public eye, Margiela is a luminary in the contemporary international fashion scene, and this book offers the reader a rare glimpse into his extravagantly chic reality. The book also includes essays on Margiela by designers such as Jean-Paul Gautier and Vanessa Beecroft.
Dog Portraits

Looking for an original gift idea? How about a commissioned portrait of your pet by one of these two uber-talented artists? Valerie Leonard and Kate Williamson paint these unforgettable portraits of your pets.
Valerie Leonard’s portraits are in the style of such 18th century luminaries as Thomas Gainsborough and Joshua Reynolds, incorporating the techniques of Renaissance portraiture mastered by the above-mentioned artists to paint well-crafted, carefully detailed pictures of your pooch.

Kate Williamson opts for a simpler, warmer approach, with portraits that resemble beautifully captured snapshots of your beloved pet as seen through the lens of a master illustrator. Williamson’s portraits are more modern and fresh in style, though no less skillful as those by Leonard.
Woof, indeed.
