10% Of College Grads Actually Think Judge Judy Is On The Supreme Court

"Sometimes it's the less you know, you know?"

Kids say the darndest things. And apparently, so did college grads, 10% of whom believe that Judith Sheindlin (AKA Judge Judy) is on the Supreme Court.

At least that’s the findings of a study conducted in August 2015 but released earlier this week.

Are they just confusing Sheindlin for the legendary Ruth Bader Ginsburg? If so…

The poll, titled “A Crisis in Civic Education,” was conducted by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni. They based their findings on a survey of 1,000 college graduates and found that, on the whole, they “are alarmingly ignorant of America’s history and heritage.”

“[College graduates] cannot identify the term lengths of members of Congress, the substance of the First Amendment, or the origin of the separation of powers,” the report said.

But the Judy mistake is easily the most offensive knowledge gap.

A quick review:

Judge Judy is the highest paid television personality.
Judge Judy is the longest serving judge or arbitrator in courtroom-themed programming history.
Judge Judy is a vocal ally to the LGBT community.
Judge Just is a RuPaul’s Drag Race superfan.

Judge Judy is not on the Supreme Court of the United State of America.
