Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras is in full swing, and the event's organizers decided to help get the word out with a platoon of Chers singing "Turn Back Time" aboard a battleship. Our only question is why didn't anyone think of this sooner?
Lead by Aussie diva Vanity Faire, "Cher the Love" features a dozen drag dollies dancing with more than 100 volunteer sailors aboard the HMAS Vampire in Darling Harbor.
In a statement, organizers explained the event was produced "as a loving tribute to a legendary pop artist who has demonstrated passionate support for LGBTQI rights throughout her career, and also as a celebration and thanks to the many LGBTQI people who continue to serve our country as members of the Australian Navy."
