"19 Kids And Counting" Homophobe Michelle Duggar Has A Gay Sister
Statistically speaking, we all kind of know at least one of the children on 19 Kids and Counting will turn out to be gay. But it looks like the Duggar family tree already has some strange fruit: Evelyn Ruark, Michelle Duggar's older sister, identifies as a lesbian.
Radar is reporting Ruark, 63, has been in a long-term relationship with her partner, Sharon Callahan. The couple lives together in Cincinnati.
Ruark and Callahan aren't too thrilled with their reality-TV in-laws, who have become active in anti-LGBT politics: In 2010, Callahan told The National Enquirer about the Duggars' ties to the QuiverFull movement, a Christian sect promoting denouncing all forms of birth control. “We are worried about them,” she told the tabloid. “We have often thought that QuiverFull is a cult. It appears to be brainwashing to me.”
Eldest son Josh Duggar, who got himself a job with the ultra-homophobic Focus on the Family, insists there's no bad blood within the family.
“I have an aunt who has chosen to live that life and I love my aunt," he said on a radio show last year. “She believes that marriage is between one man and one woman.”
Sure she does, Josh.
