Was it the most frivolous coming-out moment ever, or just a tasteless joke?
A Vine of One Direction's Louis Tomlinson allegedly declaring "I'm gay. It's pretty unfortunate," went viral this week, sending scores of tween girls into fits of pique.
Vine user Amber Almighty was apparently attempting to greet the 1D member in her best, "I'm your biggest fan" voice when he reportedly informed her he wasn't going to be on the menu.
By the end of the weekend #ImGayItsUnfortunate became a trending topic across social media.
Gay innuendo follows One Direction like the cops follow Amanda Bynes: A few months ago Niall hacked a friend's Twitter and joked about "experimenting." Harry Styles, meanwhile, has cuddled with Ian McKellen, said gender isn't important in a partner, and quipped about gay sex, "Don't knock it 'til you try it."
