Gay guys can have their White Parties, Black Parties, Black & Blue parties, and so on… But leave it to the lesbians to smartly cram all of their fun into one huge party weekend—and then to name it after a golfing, 1970s talk-show host, Dinah Shore. (Yes, before Rosie or Ellen or even Oprah handily ruled daytime talk TV, it was all about Dinah.)
This year’s Dinah Shore weekend—simply called The Dinah 2006, and raging from Wednesday, March 29th thru Sunday, April 2nd—slams into Palm Springs with a crazy roster of talent which includes the most rockin’ woman in the world, Joan Jett, plus the Pussycat Dolls (pictured), Margaret Cho, En Vogue, June & Bonnie Pointer, Amber, Top Model’s Kim Stolz, filmmaker Guinevere Turner, actor Jane Lynch, and many other boldface she-names. And yes, there’s an L Word pool party!
What does all of this really mean? Lots of women in straw cowboy hats and boas partying themselves silly for days on end… Pack up your Subarus now!
