NewNowNext Notes: Movies

- Gonna catch only one gay gross-out romantic comedy this spring? Make it Craig Chester's awesome Adam & Steve (out on March 31st; pictured, left). It’s got a country-western dance battle, New York’s Dazzle Dancers and Parker Posey in a fat suit. ’Nuff said.

- The folks who brought you Bring It On now present Stick It about girl gymnastics and the Kerri Strug set. Our favorite mean girl quote: “It’s not called gym-nice-tics!” It’s out on April 21st.

- Are we feeling Phat Girlz (April 7th)? They had us at one word: Mo’Nique.

- It’s spring and that means it’s time for some gay sports-themed films from Germany! Summer Storm (this Friday, March 24th) is gorgeously shot and serves up crew team hotties going the coming-of-age route. Guys & Balls (April 28th; picured, right) kicks it with some gay soccer silliness. Score!

- Speaking of soccer, Totally cute Kuno Becker stars in Goal! The Dream Begins about an underemployed Mexican-Ameican who dreams of being a soccer star. Enter a British scout, heartwarming music and cameos by soccer studs David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane. It’s out on May 12th.

- Is Mandy Moore totally mocking Kelly Clarkson in the American Idol satirizing American Dreamz? You tell us.

- The verdict’s mixed on the forthcoming gay British comedy, Kinky Boots. Some have advised: “Don't miss it!" Others? Not so much.

- And I don’t care if the reviews end up sucking big ones, I’m gonna be all over X-Men 3. Famke Janssen. Hugh Jackman in wolf daddy mode. Loopy Anna Paquin with streaked hair. Cutie Shawn Ashmore. Rebecca Romijn naked and blue and slithery. Hottie James Marsden shooting laser beams from his eyes. Kelsey Grammer (Sideshow Bob!) hairy and beastly. And the ultimate British catfight between Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen… (Even our favorite crazy Dominican model/wild child Omahyra has a role.) Nothing is gonna keep us from X-Men: The Last Stand. Not even wooden Halle Berry in her cheap white wig.

- When four gay graduating high school seniors made a pact to lose their back-door virginity over the course of a summer, you’ve got Another Gay Movie on your hands. Think American Pie meets Porky’s—at an underwear party! Check out the cute cast (and guest stars Graham Norton, Survivor Richard Hatch, Lypsinka, Ant, Scott Thompson, Boy Meets Boy’s James Getzlaff and porn star Matthew Rush) at the film’s way cute site. It's due this July.

When are you guys going to play "Pee Stains and Other Disasters", I know it's not big budget, but it's an endearing "indy" for all Logo fans to luv. Check it out, and go get it for us.
