Music Buzz Bits: Wolf Parade Duels, Pink Plays Ball, and NYC Makes Out!

Wolf Parade: They're not gay, but they like rainbows. And wigs.
Wolf Parade (which is one of my favorite bands ever—of this past year) has a video for their brilliant tune, “I’ll Believe In Anything.” There are lots of wigs (as in 1700’s powdered wigs), gun battles, duels, palaces and other such silliness. Bravo!

Fall Out Boy: They need a little Christmas, Tim Burton-style.
In other musical/visual news, uberpopular bands Panic! At the Disco, Fall Out Boy and Fiona Apple are among those contributing to a new CD that celebrates the theatrical release of a new and improved 3-D version of the Tim Burton flick, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Yes, the bands are covering the tunes from the film. Fun!!!

Are you ready for some footbaallllllll? Pink is.
And I know this was reported a couple of days ago, but I just love that Pink is doing the NBC Sunday Night Football theme song. And I even love that she’s reworking the Joan Jett classic “I Hate Myself for Loving You” into her own “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.” She kinda rocks... I don’t watch football that much (though my bf is a big fan), but it’s always a blast when I do. And Pink just ups the fun quotient, thanks.
A couple of nifty tidbits from Pitchfork:

Ariel Pink: No relation to the above-featured Pink, fyi.
Skinny arty popster Ariel Pink is veering off the usual touring route to head to rural Louisiana, specifically the town of Bogalusa. Is this some new hipster mecca, I’ve not heard of? Um... No. It’s where Pink’s dad is running for mayor, so he’s gonna go perform at the town centennial celebration and hopefully drum up some votes. Kinda cute, right?

Diplo: He's gonna start at Riottt! in San Francisco later this fall.
And if you’re gonna be in San Francisco on November 11, that’s a good thing, because it means you can catch a pretty killer line-up at the Be the Riottt! Festival. Performing at this alterna-bash will be the likes of The Rapture, Metric and Tokyo Police Club, and just as super-cool is the fact that Diplo (pictured above) and Girl Talk will also crank some tunes. Yipee!

Out singers (and Logo "Click List" favorites) Jason & DeMarco are all in the spirit of this kissing thing.
And if you’re in New York City, and not caught up in the frenzy of MTV’s Video Music Awards tonight, here’s something you can do. Pucker up and start smoochin’!!!
