Apple's New Fall Harvest

The new batch of shiny, happy, aluminum iPod Nanos. Cute!
Apple unveiled new iPod products today... There’s a new regular iPod, with the capacity to play about 9 million movies and play a zillion songs (okay, the big one is at 80GB, so that gets you more like 20,000 songs or 100 hours of video )—and video games, natch. And it’s got a new improved battery life of, like, a year (actually, 20 hours for the 80GB model). Basically, they’re better and boast more vibrant viewing screens. The 80GB is $349; or there’s a 30GB for $249. You can get them in white or black.
For those who just wanna rock out, you can choose from a new iPod Nano, which is smaller and lighter and comes in a new aluminum body that comes in five sassy colors (silver, pink, green, blue and black). It’s got a brighter, more vibrant display perfect for viewing album art and up to 25,000 photos, and festive (and wonderfully handy) new search options. You can get a 2GB version ($149), a 4GB version ($199) or an 8GB for $249. And the earbud headphones have been revamped, too. Plus, accessories galore.
And for those who even want something less cumbersome, get the new iPod Shuffle, which comes in a sleek new aluminum design, is just half a cubic inch in volume, weighs just half an ounce and features (as the press release says) “a stunning all-new aluminum design and a built-in clip which makes it the most wearable iPod ever.” It’s got 1GB of memory, holds about 240 songs, and costs a mere $79.

The happy iPod family: Daddy iPod, Mama Nano and little rugrat Shuffle.
There’s also news out today about a bunch of new movies and stuff available on the newly hatched iTunes 7. But you can check that out here.
Happy shopping!
