Heatherette Turns Margaritaville Gay!

Pack your bags, kids. We're flying off to fashion-land!
Last night was the Heatherette Spring/Summer 2007 fashion show in Bryant Park. The fashion label--run by NYC downtowners Richie Rich (a former figure skater turned club kid turned designer) and Traver Rains (a former Montana ranch-boy turned rodeo cowboy turned designer)--celebrates wild, coloful fashion, fun and whimsy, and for this particular season, all things tropical, beachy and downright coconutty. Pass that pitcher of pina coladas.
The fashion runway was done up like a literal runway, as if a planeload of cute models had just crash landed in Paradise. On board were also Heatherette regulars like Paris and Nicky Hilton (and yes, Paris' tropical tune "Stars Are Blind" got some play), world-famous transsexual Amanda Lepore, pop stars Kelis (on the runway) and Brandy (in the front row), famous offspring like Lydia Hearst and Theodora Richards, and just lots of crazy/skinny models.
Here's an album from the riotously colorful runway madness. You can almost smell the tanning butter.
Aloha!

Paris was the first model out. Toting her suitcase while "Stars Are Blind" cranked.

Meanwhile, Amanda was getting a few touch-ups backstage.

It's beach boys behaving badly. I approve.

Mya serves up some surfer girl-meets-Gidget glam. Rad!

Paris and Nicky Hilton served up some preppy, beachy togs for this particular look. Stripedy!

Look! It's your Aunt Nettie with her little dog. And the dog just happens to wear a wig, naturally.

Theodora Richards--daughter of Rolling Stone Keith Richards and Patti Hansen--gives it a hip sip.

And here's a close up. Just because.

Her milkshake is now more of strawberry daiquiri. Cheers, Kelis!!!

Praise be to Reverend Amanda Lepore... Or something like that.

Props to Richie Rich and Traver Rains for a completely sunny, sassy show...

And the big finish and kiss goodbye... Thanks, everybody!
hopefully Paris didn't have a margarita on a empty stomach before operating that suitcase...
