Scissors Tear Up London!

Whoa! Jake Shears positively glows onstage in London's Trafalgar Square. Holy pop stars! Photo by Kevin Tachman.
Scissor Sisters, Scissor Sisters, Scissor Sisters!!! You think you’ve been hearing a lot about them in the gay media (and otherwise) here in the U.S.??? Yes, their new album Ta-Dah comes out next Tuesday, and yes, you can hear the whole thing now on MySpace. And yes, their video’s playing on Logo and Jake Shears and BabyDaddy will be host this coming weekend’s NewNowNext music video show on Logo, but that ain’t all...
The Sisters—who are so mega-huge in the U.K. that they’ve just had the #1 single with their latest, “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’”—had a big fat record launch party in London, taking over none other than Trafalgar Square for a massive free public concert. It was part of a big, sassy Motorola-sponsored concert to raise awareness about AIDS in Africa, but for music-heads, it was just a big spashy Scissors extravaganza. The night ended with Jake and Ana joking with the loopy crowd (many of whom were by then swimming in the fountain) and saying: “If we stay here any longer, we’ll sit on Nelson’s column!” Photographer Kevin Tachman was there and sent pics! (And we’ve got some other shots as well...) And Kylie Minogue introduced the band onstage. Madness!
Also, my friend Marc was in the U.K. all last week and said all you ever heard on the radio or saw on TV was, yes... “Scissor Sisters, Scissor Sisters, Scissor Sisters!!!” So, show them some love.
There’s also a fun interview/profile of Jake Shears in this week’s New York Magazine. You can read it here.
And now for the pics... Enjoy!

Del Marquis does his thing; in a glowing swirl of blue disco-ball fabulousness! Photo by Kevin Tachman.

Ana and Jake get ready to wrap things up. Note Jake's hot little one-piece swimsuit thingy. Woo-hoo! Photo by Kevin Tachman.

And, of course, Jake wraps it up by pretty much stripping down. London's burning! Photo by Kevin Tachman.

Look how cute she is! Kylie Minogue took the stage to introduce the Scissors.

The band rocked it on this mega-stage put up in the Square. Whoa!

Fans showed up, glammed in red for the occasion.

And the whole place was big, happy, red mob scene!
Brilliant!
Wow that looks so cool I wish i was there!!!
