Buzz Bits: Lucy Plays Football, Amaechi Speaks Out & More!

240x360_lucyghoul
Lucy Lawless (right, next to the little ghoul creature) is gonna do some "footballin'" this fall.

We know that Lucy Lawless is sporty. Playing Xena seemed like running a mystical decathlon in every episode. Now, the towering talent has been cast in the soapy spouse drama, Footballers Wives, coming to ABC TV. Which is totally fun news.

The annual insanity that is the Eurovision Song Contest is revving up. And the Danes are sending a drag queen to deliver their winning tune. Yippeee!

NBA star John Amaechi is out, and now he’s part of an HRC campaign. And yesterday, he guested on the ESPN talk show Outside the Lines to talk about the gayness. Andy’s got a good wrap-up.

And it turns out that the Dallas Mavericks' owner, Mark Cuban, says that an active gay NBA player, if he came out, could make some major bucks. Woo-hoo!

Belinda Carlisle cops to some past same-sex action? So, was like, “Circle in the Sand” some kind of secret quasi-lesbian code?

T.R. Knight and some Grey’s Anatomy costars got bumped from their VIP tables at Grammy party in L.A. because P. Diddy’s crew needed them. Just so ya know...

And if you enjoyed the Grammys last night (which were pretty good, given the Mary J. and Xtina and Gnarls peformances, and all the Dixie Chick wins), you might enjoy this strange video of a bunch of kids (or “Kidz”) performing “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley. Yes, you’ve heard a zillion covers of the tune, but this one’s kind of charming, in a grating-kiddie-bop kind of way.

Kidz Bop goes "Crazy." You'll love the little guy in front.
