Valentine's Day Love-In: Sweet Music Videos

OK GO at The Grammys: They've got this fashion/red carpet thing down.
Hot off their Grammy win for Best Short Form Video and continuing with their tacky, yet oh so kitschy wallpaper theme (see the first video for “Do What You Want”, the video for “Invincible,” their amazing live show, and their logo – need I go on?) Ok Go, the kings of the “one-take video” have done it again. No their new video doesn’t have any catchy choreographed dance moves or cleverly used exercise equipment – but it’s still super entertaining nonetheless. The second video for “Do What You Want” directed by Olivier Gondry (brother of Michel Gondry) is a stunner. Covered from head to toe with the same paper as on the walls, the boys and friends dance around and just create havoc. Explains singer Damian Kulash "It's the most basic setup you can get. One camera shot, one room, one background, no tricks - its about achieving as much diversity as you can within that one shot."

And here's what the Ok Go boys look like when they're not covered in wallpaper.
And just because it’s hilarious, click here for a how to video on Ping Pong the boys made back in the day. Oh, those plucky popsters!

Fresh from Glasgow, Scotland: The Fratellis
In the long line of past iPod songs, The Fratellis’ new single “Flathead” is one that will get stuck in your head two beats into it. And while watching colored shadows of people dance is always entertaining, look out for the band’s original music video coming to a video iPod near you soon. If you’ve been living in a cave for the past month and haven’t actually heard the single yet, you can also click here to stream it. If you like what you hear and want some more, check out “Henrietta” another solid single off their new EP, The Flathead EP, available on, yes you guessed it, iTunes. Their first full length album, Costello Music, should be available in the US this March, so keep an eye out!

The Girls (and Boy) from Brazil: Cansei De Ser Sexy
What do you get when six art students, none of which can play any instruments, decide to start a band as a joke? Apparently, a hard rocking, super indie punk band that could be the biggest thing to come out of South America. Cansei de Ser Sexy (Portuguese for “tired of being sexy”–as you must know by now) have already had their songs used on a plethora of South American reality spin offs and a video game. A quick search on YouTube brings up the video for their single “Off the Hook,” which practically writes the book on do it yourself music videos.

Feeling The Cliks? "Oh Yeah."
Sticking with the international theme, those rocking friends from up North (meaning Toronto), The Cliks, have finally put out a video! After a major band overhaul, a bad breakup, and a nervous breakdown (smells like the makings of a perfect rock album) the trans-tastic band is back with a brand new album, Snakehouse, due out in April. But if you need your fill of Lucas and the ladies now head over to their MySpace page and check out the video for their first single “Oh Yeah.” Also, make sure to look out their contribution to The L Word soundtrack “Complicated.”

Kirsten Price: Showin' some love.
And while we’re on the subject (of The L Word, that is), Kirsten Price has wrapped up a video for “Magic Tree,” her soulful donation to the series’ soundtrack. I don’t know which is hotter, Kirsten’s old school R&B vocal stylings or the ladies of The L Word who star in her new video. There’s really no way to explain, you’ll just have to see it for yourself. Turn up the AC and turn off your cells, ladies.

Watch Bette and the gals tear it up in Kirsten Price's "Magic Tree."

Kirsten Price and Joss Stone get friendly at a benefit concert in 2005. Just for your pleasure...
P.S. Just for Valentine’s Day... Here’s an L Word catfight montage. Oddly, it’s got all the curse words bleeped out, but you’ll the general idea. Which is that love... hurts!
