Who Should Win the Oscar? What's the Best Gay Film? Vote Online Gays, Vote!

Photosoftwarelee
Gisele and Emily and all the intense fashionistas at Runway Magazine are voting in the Queer Year polls online... Don't let them steer the ballots! Sound off for Effie! Or whoever!

Consider yourself warned… Just in case the Oscars weren’t already like the gay version of the Super Bowl already (even in a non-Brokeback year such as this) the kids at Logo are looking to make it even moreso this weekend. Knowing how much you love to sound off on who you think should win an Oscar, which movie star is the hottest, which action sequence was the best, which character is most likely to inspire drag queens, etc... They’ve jacked up an entire slew of movie and Oscar-related polls online, where you can go and vote on all of these things. Plus, you can see the results of how everyone else has voted, like, instantly.

There are also tons of photo flipbooks where you can check out photos of all the Oscar nominees, look back at all the gay characters on film from the past year, see best-dressed and worst-dressed round-ups.

More on the polls and Queer Year mania after the jump!

So far, the voting is chugging along quite nicely. Have a look below at some of the people and flicks that the gays are rooting for… Don’t agree? Then go vote for your favorite. You can vote as much as you want, too. (though I’m not sure if you’re supposed to know that.)

"Um, I know you're gonna be voting for me--okaaaayyy?"

So who cares if Bloodrayne wasn't the best movie ever? You all are still voting Michelle Rodriguez as the sexiest female star of the year! So much for "the others"...

So this guy is currently beating out Matthew McConaughey and Andre 3000 and Johnny Knoxville and Quinceanera's Jesse Garcia as the hottest, sexiest star of the year? Are you cool with that?

This "Last King of Scotland" is whooping the other Best Actor noms, thus far... Or course anything could happen.

Sit on this: "Another Gay Movie" is leading the votes as your favorite "Guilty Pleasure Movie of the Year," beating out "Snakes on a Plane," "Jackass Number Two" and "Madea's Family Reunion." So put down those poppers and cast your vote!

240x360_imaginemeyou
Your favorite cinematic gay couple of the year so far? Rachel and Luce from "Imagine Me & You" are edging out the eponymous "Adam & Steve" and even Mr. Jellineck and Chuck Noblet from "Strangers With Candy." Girl power!!!

Your favorite gay film director would be... Not Jamie Babbit (The Quiet). Not John Cameron Mitchell (Shortbus). Not Pedro Almodovar (Volver). So far, you guys are loving Bill Condon, the man behind Dreamgirls, the most. Disagree? Then vote!

And the award for "the Most Lesbian-ish Non-Lesbian Film of the Year" goes to... Nope, not Bloodrayne. Not Stick It. Not John Tucker Must Die (though it's close)... It's all about the mud and blood-soaked all-female horror-fest of The Descent. Or maybe it's just that "spelunking" sounds pretty gay...

And frankly, if there's any trend in the Queer Year polls voting it's that The Devil Wears Prada is winning in just about any category it's in. Whether you think it's about the costumes, or the use of props (watch those flying fur coats and bags) or whether it's Meryl herself. In fact, gay voters are picking Meryl Streep as Best Actress over front-runner Helen Mirren. Just so you know... Devilish!!!! Go see for yourself!

Also, this weekend on Logo, throughout the channel’s programming you’ll see clips of a group of five gays discussing the year’s movies, mouthing off about who’s gonna win an Oscar, and just chatting sassily. Among these folks are filmmaker/actor/writer Craig Chester (who made this past year’s gay comedy, Adam & Steve), film critic/writer Alonso Duralde (who’s very smart, kinda bearish—and hilarious!), film writer/historian Jenni Olson (she founded Popcorn Q on PlanetOut), filmmaker Angela Robinson (also hilarious—she directed Herbie Fully Loaded and wrote/directed D.E.B.S.), and one other guy (me, actually). It’s fun. And if you hate it you can send a comment here and let me know! You’ll be able to watch these video clips online, too. Go here…

Cheers! Happy voting!
