Spice Girls Reunion: What They Really, Really Want!

Don't hush, Baby: The secret's out about the reunion plans.
Weeks of flavorful speculation about a Spice Girls reunion tour and album were fully seasoned last Friday, when their management company confirmed that the group would make “an announcement to the world” on June 28 concerning its future plans.
Zig-a-zig-ah! That would be tomorrow.
It seems the five women and their manager, American Idol creator Simon Fuller, want to inject Girl Power into the world one last, fleeting time. Scary, Baby, Posh, Ginger and Sporty Spice, whose nicknames conveniently reflect key lesbian demographics, reportedly intend to perform 25 dates around the globe beginning in December. The shows will promote their forthcoming greatest hits album that will include several new songs.
Supposedly, four of the five Spice Girls had been sweet on the idea of a reunion for a while, but the arrangement was delayed by the reluctance of Melanie Chisholm, aka Sporty Spice. Perhaps the scent of multi-million dollar earning potential helped lure her back to Spice World.

Cool Britannia: Thoroughly 90s icons.
The Spice Girls - Victoria Adams, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, and Geri Halliwell - formed in London in 1994 and split in early 2001, after becoming one of the most successful all-female music acts ever and achieving the status of a cultural phenomenon. They released three studio albums, and nine of their ten singles zoomed to number one on the UK music charts.
Since the break up, members of the Spice Girls have pursued motherhood, of course, and solo careers, predominantly in music and television, to varying degrees of success. Victoria Adams, aka Posh Spice, now a fashion designer, arguably remains the most high profile owing to her status as WAG to hot British footballer David Beckham. A previous reunion attempt for the group failed at the July 2005 Live 8 concert in Hyde Park, London.
Spice Girls fans, meanwhile, hope to ensure a reunion starting on July 2, when they will launch a campaign to download “Stop,” the only one of the group’s ten singles not to reach the top of the UK charts. The goal of the effort, "Stop to the Top," is to let the Spice Girls know how much they are missed. Thanks to Nat Udom of the Kit Kat Dolls for tipping us off to this project in our comments section!
