Who’s Playing Where? August 28th – August 30th: Northern State, Captain Ahab and VHS or BETA.

Northernstatedos425x308

The ladies of Northern State play close to home this Wednesday.

Although I myself am not a giant fan of Northern State, I can see the appeal. And even though I wouldn’t sit around by myself listening to the CD, I’m sure the live show will be buckets of fun. Especially the one this Wednesday in Brooklyn where the ever-fabulous Murray Hill will be hosting.

If you live in Chicago, however, go see Papercuts at Schubas on Wednesday. I saw them last Friday with Tiny Vipers and Beach House and all the bands were fan-freakin-tastic. The crowd was pretty annoying, but that’s not the bands’ fault. And the drummer and bassist from Papercuts are in this band Red Leaf Black Bird that is very special.
