Video Lunch: Ari Gold - "Where the Music Takes You"

Ah, now this is a Utopian vision of the future!

Today we’ve got the new video from out-singer Ari Gold’s upcoming album, Transport Systems. Along with commanding an army of dancing robots, it looks like cartoon Ari’s “transport systems” allow him to teleport hot guys to his spaceship lair and dance with him. Nothin' wrong with that.

Bronx-native Ari’s always been quite a LOGO fixture; be sure to catch his interview with NewNowNext when his new album comes out (October 2)!

More of the non-Entourage Ari we all love...after the jump!

Although Ari’s producing great new music these days, I have to say I have a soft spot for his earlier work: He used to do back-up vocals for Diana Ross and voice overs for Jem and the Holograms!

But on his own, Ari made a name for himself performing throughout New York city, and he released his self-titled debut album in 2001. He attracted attention, as he combined gay subject-matter with R&B music…something not many people had done. Later, Ari’s second CD, Space Under Sun, pretty much cemented his success. He released it under his own label, GOLD18 Records, and the album debuted at Number 1 on the Outvoice Charts. Ari then released a coffee table book and a collection of remixes.

For Transport Systems, Ari said he embraced the “feminine and powerful” and collaborated with Steve Skinner, who’s worked with Akon, Jewel and R. Kelly, and Producer Joe Hogue. Vh1’s Born to Diva winner (who’s currently on tour with Christina Aguilera), Sasha Allen, offers up some fierce guest vocals for the “Music” track.
