Ben Jelen (whose name is just too fun to say) is a bit pretentious for my tastes, but his single for his sophomore album, Ex-Sensitive, is pretty good. I’m kind of surprised it’s not doing better on the charts. Well, check out this overlooked track (and this beautiful face), along with some little hand-drawn narrations. (I wonder if Ben did those himself…)
Ex-Sensitive, which came out in July of this year from the Scottish-American multi-instrumentalist, may be Ben’s second album, but it’s only his first with Linda Perry’s Custard Records. Ben switched labels (he started with Maverick) after poor sales of his debut, Give It All Away. Not sure if this album’s doing any better – maybe Ben should have taken Joseph Janus of Fearless Management’s original offer of a career as a model!
He certainly has the looks! Keep reading for an interview with a shirtless Ben (no complaints) in which he discusses his environmentalism and the "Pulse" track from his new album.
i love his music, but his hair looks greasy.
He has caught my interest , I would love a chance to photograph him based on the themes of his different songs
