Watch Avril Lavigne's New Video, "Hot," Here!

Avril and I have a love-hate relationship (one she doesn't know about)...and the saga continues with her latest video. The track, "Hot," is the third single from Avril Lavigne's album, The Best Damn Thing.

First off, I liked this song back when the album came out (despite its ridiculous lyrics), and I also really like Avril's voice on it, and although I do have some issues with the video, I've watched it quite a few times already.

The red carpet wig looks pretty nast, Avril, so let's get out of the way, but she looks pretty sexy, overall. I just (and I know I keep referencing America's Next Top Model in my music video commentary) really think Avril needs to take a lesson from Tyra about being in front of a camera: It's all in the face! Avril's body language is fantastic, but her eyes are totally dead! It's like someone else is pressing buttons to control her and her mind is elsewhere.

It's always been this way with Avril, though. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the burlesque-show theme...it just comes off as a poor man's "Lady Marmalade," and it doesn't quite match with the theme / mood of the song.

By the way...what is this Make5Wishes online comic-movie thing Avril's plugging? Does anyone else get it/know her involvement?
