For this week's edition of NewNowNext Noise, John Polly chats up singer/actor Jay Brannan! (After he did an on-air interview upstairs. Whatever.)

So, you may recognize Jay from the movie Shortbus (he had longer, darker hair then)...which was great and featured un-simulated sex! Jay Brannan's musical skills go beyond his guitar-playing scene in Shortbus (although he performs one of his own songs in the movie): He's got an album out, Unmastered, as well as quite the Internet following and an impressive list of upcoming gigs!

John and Jay discuss moving/surviving in NYC, Jay's performance schedule and a few of his musical inspirations.
