Trans Musicales Takes Flight in France

God save the queens: Yo Majesty preps to reign over France.

The upcoming music festival called Trans Musicales may not be a gay event, strictly speaking, but it certainly holds some homo appeal. Whether it is the festival’s name, its multi-genre character, or the fact that it’s held in an airplane hangar in France, Trans Musicales seems worth a glance or two of the queer eyebrow.

Scheduled for December 6 to 8 near Rennes, a city in northwest France, the Trans Musicales festival will bring over 50 hot music acts to the stage. Among those expected to appear this year are Dan Deacon, Simian Mobile Disco, Calvin Harris, Boyz Noize, and Yo Majesty, the butch hip-hop twosome from Tampa.

Those who can’t make it to France can always await the forthcoming Yo Majesty full-length album. The duo has signed with Domino Records, and a release is expected ... eventually.
