Video Lunch: Chromeo - "Bonafide Lovin'"

Chromeo is the electro-funk (and self-proclaimed ultra-sensual) duo based in Montreal and New York; the pair consists of P-Thugg and Dave 1, a union which, according to Chromeo's MySpace, marks "the only successful Arab/Jew partnership since the dawn of human culture."

Hmm...I'm kind of liking these guys' humor...along with their dirty-polygons music video...They came out with their second album, Fancy Footwork, in May as part of their "sensual conquest of planet Earth." The duo's debut album, She's In Control, dropped in 2004...and even though it did well, David M. admits that now, "the first one sounds cheap and gimmicky" in comparison to his new endeavor.

And Dave 1's got the brains to go along with that talent (and those looks): His mild-mannered alter-ego, Dave Macklovitch, is working on his PhD in French Literature from Columbia University. (He even teaches undergraduate classes!)

I wonder if students view him as an authority figure...Well, he'd probably have to fend off overly-eager female students first and foremost...with all that talk of "bonafide lovin'" and "sensual conquest" we've been hearing.
