Calling all bats and vampires: Miss Kittin returns.

“Blood pressure is high. Need to pump some iron. Or German steel.”

Deadpan delivery over deep, throbbing techno beats can only mean one thing: Ms. Kittin is back.

The jet-setting queen of the electroclash scene plans to unveil BatBox, her second solo album and first since 2004, in early February. Her lead single, “Kittin is High,” can be heard in its original version here, and Miss Kittin is also prowling two remixes, with dark titles like “9/11” and “Beauty is Terror.”

Spooky? Well, yes. After all, Miss Kittin claims this latest effort was inspired by goth music and style.

Miss Kittin will stalk the catwalk this winter.

According to the Paris-based Miss Kittin, whose birth name is Caroline Hervé, BatBox is a redemption.” The 13 tracks were composed while she toured the world over the past two years. She adds, “I was saying goodbye to old ghosts, allowing light to reduce the shadows and fight the dark. It was like opening a window on new perceptions, not with my eyes but through intuition, just like bats and cats do.”

Renowned for her collaborations with dance music titans like Felix Da Housecat, Miss Kittin also plans some noteworthy pairings for BatBox. The track, “Sunset Strip,” brings a collaboration with Melophobia, who has worked with Dido, Kylie Minogue, and New Order.  Her new album also includes a 12-page booklet with artwork by Rob Reger, the creator of the Emily the Strange cartoon.

Sounds purr-fect.
