Jay Brannan Makes "Top 5 Folky Covers of Rap Songs"

Mental Floss posted a Top 5 that's pretty funny in itself, but gay singer Jay Brannan's place on the list ups the interest-level - especially since Jay made it for covering N.W.A.'s "Straight Outta Compton." ...Interesting choice, yeah?
You've got to listen to Jay - who has the sweetest, gentlest voice and demeanor - singing "goin' off on a motherf*cker like that with a gat that's pointed at your ass."
Jay also mixes in some TLC "Waterfalls," which makes me love him even more. Isn't he so sweet?
If you want to quick and dirty, Metal Floss's other picks included Jonathan Coulton doing Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back;” Mat Weddle of Obadiah Parker doing Outkast’s “Hey Ya;” Jerry Chapman & His Acoustic Herbivores doing Young MC’s “Bust a Move;” and The Gourds doing Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice.”
You can watch all of those video's on their Folk-Cover Countdown post for the full awkwardness that is folk musicians singing rap lyrics. Mental Floss also mentions Flight of the Conchords in their countdown, so they get even more points with me.
