Rihanna's Unhappy as a Celebrity; Makes Half-a-Million Dollars in 40 Minutes

Alternate Title: Why I'm Still Unable to Ever Feel Sorry For Celebrities.
On fame and fortune, Rihanna recently said:

"Fame is lonely. At first, I was on an adrenaline high - this is my dream. I'm actually doing it, it didn't phase [sic] me that I was alone, that I wasn't with the people I love. But after a while it gets repetitive and that is when you think, 'Oh wow, I am sitting in a hotel room once again, just me and the television.'"
In other news, Rihanna performed a mini-concert on New Year's for a Russian billionaire, earning $500,000 in 40 minutes. ...I'm just sayin'.
Don't get me wrong; I love me some Rihanna - that "Don't Stop the Music" video was fierce - I also love it when, as is the case here, celebrities show their true colors. Rihanna definitely lets it slip more than most of her contemporaries; remember when she described her relationship with Beyonce as just "we are not enemies?"
I just love all that, for some reason, even though a Lily Allen/Rupert Everett tirade it's not. Anyway, recently, Rihanna whined about being famous - something celebrities should never do for their sakes. Ever.
"In this business people are shallow, they are dishonest. You can't trust them. ... I have always had a thing for reading people. When I come into contact with a situation or a person, the first thing I do is just sit quiet for a little while. I sit and watch you."
OK, Ri-Ri, keep crying. Unless you go by absurdly-wealthy Russian standards - they described her half-a-mil concert fee as "practically nothing" since "she's a young singer" - you don't have much to complain about. And I'm sure Mary J. would love for you to drop out any time now.
But back to those Russians: Billionaire Oleg Deripaska hosted the party for which Rihanna performed (picture courtesy of RihannaDaily.com), and Rihanna only had to stay in the area for six hours. Still, she required the Ritz-Carlton presidential suite, a room that contains an "oversized dressing room" and a security room with an "autonomous energy supply system."
I want a room with an autonomous energy-supply system! Is that so much to ask, really?
