NewNowNext Black History Month Music Video Picks!

I'm happy we at NewNowNext are able to celebrate black culture and black artists in the media in our own way; so in honor of Black History Month, I've picked out a few of my favorite music videos from the NewNowNext Black Pride Edition video page. (Follow that link to see the rest of the lineup.)

And yup, Ri-Ri is one of my picks - but check on through the jump for the rest of them. There are some choice videos ready-for-watching...

First up, we've got my girl Rihanna, born in Barbados of African, Irish and Guyanese descent, whose Good Girl Gone Bad album was nothing but wonderful. This track was my favorite of the CD, and the video is crazy-fun. "If you don't have to go...don't." ...

Next up we have the unstoppable Timbaland, who was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia - that surprises me for some reason - and his Shock Value album collabo track with Keri Hilson/amazing-ness and Nicole Scherzinger. The "Scream" video's plot line is all about a sexified heist, but it's certainly easy to get distracted...

And lastly, we've got "Honey" by neo-soul singer and Dallas-native Erykah Badu; the track is from her first new CD in five years, New Amerykah, due Feb. 26. And along with taking on album-cover icons in this video, lately Erykah's dropped the signature head-wraps for a full-on 'fro!
