Video Lunch: The Presets - "My People"

Oh, spazzy! My new-found, possibly-gay loves. I know they've been around a while, but thanks to NNN's feature I'm discovering the trashy, electro, creepy wonders of Australian duo The Presets. And the pair's newest video, "My People," which could have the gayest lyrics ever ... "locked up with all of my people!" ... is after the jump.
The duo, Kimberly and Julian - and I couldn't have come up with gayer names if I tried - is all about sweaty partying and free sex, and they call their style of music "Spazzzzdancefaggggrock!" ...Yeah, they give the best interviews too.
So The Presets have dealt with gay rumors, but I almost shouldn't call them rumors because the boys don't care and consider themselves sexually-fluid. I wish I could find some more dirty deets, though - i.e. if they've actually slept with men/each other.
Ah, well, these hintings will have to do for now, but I'm still hoping I can interview them someday. Kim and Julian - sorry, I'm still laughing at that - told LAWeekly.com:
"I hope [our music] makes people want to f*ck and dance — they’re two of the last things we’re allowed to do in a world that’s being increasingly run on hate and fear."

Yeah - their music really gets people in the mood...perhaps a very freaky mood. And in regards to their sex-ified sounds and to their own sexuality, the pair told JonkMusic...
"It's not like super trying to get in each other's pants or anything, but it depends on how many E’s you give me. But chicks dig it. I don't think we're overtly gay, we're just who we are, and it's probably just sexual.
I've read reviews where chicks are gagging... There's one review at the moment that says 'Why is it that listening to the Presets makes girls want to go find themselves a massive throbbing cock!' and it's like, I think it's just confidence and sleaze more than any particular sexuality. We're just the sort of people who like whatever."
Wow, I don't think they could be cooler ... and there's something so skeezy and fascinating about them ... maybe because they're not even young.
I like Julian in particular because of his creepy vocals and because he used to work with Silverchair and co-wrote that amazing "Straight Lines" song. Although Kim has his gay-bar performance past going for him... Well, I hope there's more to come from these two now that I found out I love them.
I've been loving The 'Sets for over two years now and believe me, they are a junkie-like obsession. You want more and more after you see them live. I'm seeing them twice in the next two weeks and can't wait. Thanks LOGO for featuring this act.
