MySpace Boots TransAmerican Lover Jim Over Nude Pics! Boo! Hiss!

Don't try this on MySpace, Kids!

Who knew Tom and the nerds/moguls at MySpace were such fussy prudes? They'll kick you off without a warning if they deem your pics too saucy, as our pal Jim Howley -- who you may know as one of the suitors who fought for the love of trans beauty Calpernia Addams on Logo's TransAmerican Love Story dating show -- found out this week.

Jim posted some cool arty pics of himself (nudes, but tasteful and not really crotch-exposing) on his MySpace photos page. The pics had been shot by photog Jen Rosenstein for an art show called "Transcending Boundaries" (opening in late May in L.A.) and you can see them here (above and after the jump). Jim's a trans man himself, so he was more than ready to get sexy and pose to help further the cause of hot transgender folks everywhere.

But then... as Jim tells us: "As far as MySpace is concerned, I did not receive ANY warnings or anything, my page was just deleted no questions asked. I had received 17 comments on one of the standing pictures within less than a day! POOF...my page was gone. I felt pretty sick to my stomach and am actually working to get it back. Screw Tom and his puritanical ways!"

More pics after the jump! And Jim tells us more, too!

Jim -- suited up for Calpernia on "TransAm Love Story" -- and wearing much less in the disputed portraits yanked from MySpace.

Explaining how the shots came to be, Jim explains:

I had originally intended to just pose in my jeans and boots without a shirt but the morning of the shoot I was looking in the mirror at my reflection in a pair of black boxer briefs.

F**k it," I thought, "I'm just gonna pose nude...I'm proud of my body...I own who I am today!"  Once I got in front of the camera, I was so at ease, being naked didn't phase me. It felt so natural and liberating. Plus, in the back of my mind I was and still am hoping for mainstream media exposure through these pictures.

Well, this may not be exactly "mainstream," but maybe it helps? But what bums Jim out even more is that his old flame Calpernia had even commented on his smoldering MySpace nudes:

What stinks the most is that Calpernia had commented on the one where I was seated with the cigarette in my mouth, "Oh lordy...America's next sex symbol has been born." This was the one and only comment Callie had EVER left me regarding my pictures

Meanwhile, Jim's keeping busy since his run on TLS ended (he made the Top Three!). And he's single!

Post TLS I have completed my autobiography entitled, In the Midst of a Memory. I am currently looking for a publishing house to publish the book. I am three-fourths of the way through my rough draft of my one man show that I intend on debuting next summer if at all possible.

I was just recently interviewed by The Advocate regarding the show, which was really monumental for me. I am working on getting myself, Calpernia and Alec Mapa into the West Hollywood Pride Parade but Logo hasn't returned my request for sponsorship yet. LOL! Also, I am hoping that there is a second season of TLS and that I am asked to be the bachelor, because I am single!

Hmmmm... Maybe we can put a good word in with the Logo folks? Either way, check out more of Jim's now infamous pics when they get exhibited at the L.A. Gay Center as part of "Transcending Boundaries" which opens at 1125 N. McCadden Place on May 29th from 7-9 pm.

This one was Calpernia's fave. Smokin'!

Thanks, Jim! Stay naked!

UPDATE: April 28, 2008 - Jim contacted us with this news: "My original page that got booted is back up. I had a few strings pulled and poof, it's back. Screw Tom and his bunch of boy scouts running MySpace!" Go Jim!

And you can peep more of Jim's arty nudes at the TLS photos page. Enjoy!

Jim you're awesome!

Funny enough, Jen Rosenstein has not taken any pictures of men of color.

Wow, those are GREAT pictures! Jim, you look amazing. I'll have to check out more of Jen Rosenstein's work. Cheers!

Go Jim! There was nothing tasteless about the pics; they were 'artsy'. Any semi-competent inquiry would have found out they were to promote an upcoming gallery showing.

I've been kicked off MS so many times for posting pics from www.maleperfection.net
so don't let it get to you Jim. Just keep being you!

Lubs!

Love the photos. Jen Rosenstein did a very good job. Not tastless at all. MS just doesnt know how to take good art.

What gorgeous pictures. I am crying a tad over what brilliant imagery and how flippin sad MYSPACE is. Have you ever seen these 15 year old hoochies (born female) flashing everything but their nipples. Thanks for your bold bravery, and gorgeous physique

I do not see what the big deal is aside from Jim Howley looking great. Myspace should be ashamed of them self’s, with all the hoochie mamas and pretty boy posers to choose from (sorry Alma) they take down art and leave bathroom butty shots alone (again sorry Alma).

Jen is an amazing artist. I'm one of the subjects in the show. Jay, your diss of her for "not including men of color" is a little bit whiny and offensive, to be perfectly honest. There's a two Latina women and an Asian woman and Jen would NEVER consciously exclude anyone. It's an ongoing projectthat grew very organically, and if you are a transman of color would like to be photographed I'm betting she'd be thrilled to do it.
She's a great artist and generous soul and the diss was most undeserved.
