New N*E*R*D Video - "Everyone Nose"

 

"...I'm from N*E*R*D - Aren't you Britney?" Ah, yes - memories: Britney's "Boys" featuring Pharrell from N*E*R*D, the music hit-maker's - not Britney's - side project that was never popular. Yes, I'm way too big a Britney fan ... back to the first single from N*E*R*D's new album, Seeing Sounds, due June 10.

I'll give the group credit: this isn't a club number it could churn out while watching TV. It is, though, an attack on the L.A. club scene, particularly its women. And yes, Lindsay Lohan makes a cameo in a music video about girls who do coke ... totally smart!

I find the song's concept and this video pretty sick, sexist and upsetting - as ridiculously hot as Pharrell is, seeing his arm reach out from behind his handheld and caress wasted girls' faces is so creepy - but maybe that's the point?

I've also heard Pharrell's not as nice as he is in my fantasies, and I also read Madonna admitted he made her cry when they were recording Hard Candy.  He made Madonna cry?! I didn't think that would be possible... According to NME, Madonna said -

 

"Pharrell made me cry. You know when you get angry with someone and you're spitting snot. ... I was in a sensitive mood in the studio and I didn't understand the rhythm he wanted me to sing in, and he was giving me a hard time. ... I was taken back by how he was talking to me."

She added, "We went upstairs and I said, 'You can't talk to me like that,' and burst into tears. And he said, 'Oh my God, Madonna has a heart.' ... We had it out and now I love him and we make great music together."

 

Damn, Pharrell is rough. Also! There was a fight during his video shoot! Not when Lindsay or Kanye were there, but still...
