Watch Cobra Starship "Guilty Pleasure" Video ... The Remake!
Zebra-print leggings? Neon tank-tops? Roller-skating? Am I watching Xanadu? Or did Cobra Starship at least have a gay consultant for its new video - a remake of Viva La Cobra's lead single, "Guilty Pleasure"?
Well regardless, I love all of Cobra's cheeky party-rock, but when I read the band planned on a high-budget remake - the original had lots of ... homemade charm - I expected something flashier. But that's also why I love 'em; they'll never take it seriously.
The band's "manager" - a.k.a. Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy in sunglasses - tells the crew they must sell out to make enough money for the new video - forcing them to film a commercial for "Party Patrol Blading Pants." My Gabe is not happy!
... OK, I'm distracted because I actually spoke with front man Gabe yesterday after the band performed on TRL! The interview will be up on NewNowNext in a day or two, so check back. We talked about lots of fun gay stuff like Madonna, making out with guys, his girlfriend's gay husband... And after the jump, you can watch Cobra's TRL performance.
