Michael & Janelle get cozy for the mattress challenge.

I saw on your Bravo exit interview, you said you 'finally' got eliminated. Were you expecting to go home?

Well, as far as me going on that specific challenge, I was really upset because it didn't display dance.I really didn't feel like it was dance-oriented – more like a Cirque du Soleil act. More physical than dance, I felt. Y'all didn't see, but there was boards inside we were banging ourselves on. It was pretty physical and grueling on the body.

You also said you walked into this competition with a bit of an ego...

Well, moreso in that I'm a confident dancer in my realm of hip-hop. The most challenging thing on the show was that we didn’t really have the full rehearsal time. We only had an hour and a half or two hours on some of the stuff. So it was really hard to me to program the choreography in my body. I felt if I was given more of a time frame to process the choreography, I would have been more of a confident dancer on the show.

Were there any surprises for you watching this episode?

Well, I didn't know Miguel was talking as much sh*t as he was. As you noticed there was only two times when he did say something in person, and I got on him - but in the right, respectful kind of way. Not in the negative way he used to do things.

Why did Miguel have such beef with you? Where did it come from?

[laughs.] In all honesty, Miguel used to try and make passes at me. I think it was more of an attraction thing. I kind of said, No look, it's not going to happen like that. I'd say that's more when the beef started. But I don’t really really know where it came from, in all honesty. It was a shocker to me, but hell, I was like, He's not a judge; I’m not worried about him. He's just someone trying to put a little salt on my food, and I wasn't going to be distracted by him.

Aw, I wish I had seen that ...

I think on the cabaret challenge he made a comment. When we had to kiss, I think he made a comment in one of his interviews about it.

So, you've toured with Hilary Duff and Kelly Rowland. Which tour was gayer?

[laughs.] Both of them! For Hilary Duff, all three of us were gay, and on Kelly Rowland, there was only one straight guy. And production, everything - it was equally-balanced on both tours.

Any funny stories about Hilary or Kelly that might surprise us?

Hilary has so much rhythm! It's so funny, when she put on hip-hop songs on the tour bus, she would break it down. It was the funniest and cutest thing to see. And when I was on tour with Kelly in South Africa ... their food was really not good to my taste buds. I actually threw up on stage! I went behind the speaker and came back on stage and kept it going, though.

If I may ask, you identify as bisexual?

Well, I am still physically and romantically attracted to women. But I don't feel it's right for me to date a woman in a committed relationship, because I am physically attracted to men. I think men can handle more me being physically attracted to a woman than a woman can handle me being attracted to a man. So therefore, I am still attracted to women, but dating-wise, what I want to commit to is a man.

How is that going for you?

I'm single!

Michael: Smiling -- and single!

And how are you doing work-wise?

Amazing. I was already a working dancer before the show, so I went right back into auditioning.

And actually, I'm going to be making a lot of appearances at gay prides coming up. I've been approached by Miami, Los Angeles, Cleveland ... a couple of others. I really want to show the world, mainly the heterosexual community, that there is a diversity in homosexuality; it's not just the flamboyant, feminine type. And me on the show, that's what I tried to display: I'm a man that just happens to be attracted to men. I think the more that heterosexual people see that, they'll become a little more comfortable with homosexuality. That's my own personal opinion.

And I just kind of want to reach out to underprivileged young people, and I'm teaching dance classes within the prides themselves. So I'm just using the show to the best of my ability.
