Check out The NewNowNext Awards "Next International Crossover" Nominees
Yes, the NewNowNext Awards and this blog are somewhat affiliated, but even I'll say you can't just go around calling people the next Kylie Minogue. Not amongst gays. However, some of LOGO's nominees for its Next International Crossover a.k.a. The Kylie Award category are actually pretty deserving...
The committee for the first ever NewNowNext Awards - which airs Saturday at 9 p.m. - considered soulful Welsh singer Duffy for this category, and while "Mercy" and "Your Disco Needs You" are hard to compare side-by-side, Duffy is talented and unique and the gays love her, so I'm down with the choice.
Check out the other Kylie nominees - and the committee's pick - after the jump...
After Duffy, we have the Swedish mega-star Americans are finally catching on to - "Show Me Love" doesn't count - Robyn. A lot of people, especially a lot of gays, are all about Robyn, and this may be unfair, but I find something about her kind of ... off ... or alienating. But maybe that's part of what makes her an interesting artist.
Also, her pop-writing talent is undeniable, and she's amazingly fun to see in concert ... so even though I'm not totally sold, I'm cool with her being here.
Next up is Australian singer Sia, who I actually don't care for. I think she only made it here because she's a lesbian, or at least dated a woman at one point. Umm ... but who am I to assume such a thing? Also, Sia didn't win, so it all works out!
And last we have the X-Factor and Oprah phenom who I'm always talking about Leona Lewis. I'm sorry! She's an amazing singer, totally beautiful and "Bleeding Love" deserved its success so much, I can't even get into it.

And yes, Leona won, and, yes, she was there ... and lookin' great, no surprise.

But I didn't ruin everything, did I? You'll have to watch on Saturday to see the lovely Leona accept her Nexty. And there's still time to vote for the Fan Favorite award. So get to it!
