New Ashanti Video - "Good Good"
I understand this new Ashanti song - girl, I like you, but you're still around? - "borrows" from Elton John's "Benny and The Jets" and from Michael Jackson's "The Girl Is Mine." Now Timbaland told me sampling is always cool, but isn't this pushing it? ... Well, let's just go with "inspired by."
Anyway, the second single from Ashanti's The Declaration album is all about how great Ashanti is in the sack. She's got that "good-good," so her man - in this case, Nelly - will always "be comin' right back." The video's campy fun, and the makers seem to acknowledge the song's sort of ... non-progressive (?) attitude toward women with this '50s theme, so I enjoyed it. And I appreciate Ashanti's having fun, but she might be getting a little New York-ish from time to time ...
After the jump, watch Declaration single number one, the uber-dramatic "The Way That I Love You," as well as the fantastic song that made me like Ashanti in the first place, "What's Luv" ...
