Happy Halloween, Everyone!

Heidispencerpumpkins101gg0

Scary, huh? We hope all you gays out there are squeezing into your spooky/slutty costumes at this very moment and partying it up. Remember, Heidi and Spencer are out there somewhere - but try to have fun in your freaky gear ... even with all of those Sarah Palins!

Christina Aguilera "Keeps Gettin' Better" Video

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

You know X-Tina's been around for a decade, right? ...I know. I'd swear she's tired of herself! For her new video, I get the whole detachment act as she controls video vignettes from her Minority Report-style switch board, but everything about Christina Aguilera's new video is majorly boring and low-energy. There's no excuse, either! It all looks really high-budget. And I recognize that phone from the "Womanizer" video!

Maybe my problem is I just don't like the song, one of the new tracks from Chrstina's Decade of Hits album; the only good part is the electro-blipping before Christina starts singing...

Adele Interview with NewNowNext NOISE!

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

Since her recent performance on Saturday Night Live, the Brit 19-year-old singer - along with her album, 19 - has been picking up major steam in the U.S. And we at NNN.com managed to snag Adele after her SNL rehearsal - but apologies for the camera quality ... things are a little grainy.

But there's still loads of good stuff! Adele talks about being a fag hag for life, that weird controversy over gay connotations of her "Chasing Pavements" track ... and Halloween costumes!

Lance Bass Chats With Chelsea Handler, Survives

-- snicks from AfterElton.com

Lance Bass showed up on Chelsea Lately last night to dish the dirt with one of my favorite dirt dishers, Chelsea Handler.

They discuss Dancing With The Stars (and Lance's admission to "motorboating" Cloris Leachman), his cosmonaut attempt, and the time he almost outed some of his N'SYNC pals ... mistakenly, of course.

Panic at the Disco "Northern Downpour" Video

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

As labelmates of Fall Out Boy and Cobra Starship, I should like Panic at the Disco more than I do ... they're certainly gay-friendly enough! What's wrong with me? But I just can't get into the band's good-natured Pretty.Odd album. For a moment I found this third single kind of affecting, but some of the lyrics - "I missed your skin when you were east"?! - are just painful for me; it all has this lullaby quality - not to imply that wasn't intentional - I find unappealing.

Side note: Isn't lead singer Brandon Urie one of those little boys whose voice doesn't belong in his body - like Val Emmich?

If you're interested, watch the other two Pretty. Odd videos after the jump...

Daily Buzz Bits: Girls Gone Wild to "Save" Lindsay Lohan?

Uh Huh Her's New Video for "Explode" Keeps It Straight

-- Dorothy Snarker from AfterEllen.com

Uh huh, it's another video. Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey, the musical duo known as Uh Huh Her, released the video for “Explode” this week. The single is the second off their first full-length release Common Reaction, which came out in August.

Like in their debut video for “Not a Love Song,” the pair again turns to animation. Just don't expect any unicorns this time.

Great-looking illustrations. Fantastic, fuzzy slow-burn on the song.

But I can't be the only one who thought the video was a tad stalkerish, and — how can I put this delicately — straight?

The Real Deluded Housewives of Atlanta Get a Gay Reality Check

425realhousewivesatl062608

-- by NNN.com contributor Michael J Narkunski

On Bravo’s newest edition of spa-treated programming this week, drama queen NeNe worked on a fundraiser for an organization that works to build girls’ self-esteem, which, as it turns out, is something she has in unhealthy abundance. This was chiefly observed in her plan to raise a $1 million at one auction… without selling tickets. She revealed this genius idea to her “gay boyfriend” at lunch, inside an inexplicable egg. You know it’s bad when a “celebrity stylist” has to be the voice of reason:

Dwight Eubanks, who is reminiscent of Jill’s “gay husband” on last year’s The Real Housewives of New York City, is an appropriately flamboyant addition to the show. But, how much can we enjoy him if his housewife counterpart is even more ridiculous than he is?

Missy Higgins Returns to Australia for Her First Film

-- Trish Bendix from AfterEllen.com

She may have moved to Los Angeles, but she's still an Aussie, through and through. Bisexual singer Missy Higgins is award-winning in her homeland, where she's maintained a successful musical career since she was 18 years old. Now she can add "film actress" to her résumé, as she's been cast alongside Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush in the new film Bran Nue Dae.

The movie is an adaptation of a hit musical of the same name, and will begin shooting this Friday. Higgins has never acted before, and told an Australian newspaper she is a bit "terrified."

After Picking 90210 Clean, The CW Moves on to The Carcass of Melrose Place

-- snicks from AfterElton.com

After achieving semi-success with their 90210 "re-imagining", the CW may be ready to regurgitate another iconic show from the 90's.

That's right, we may see a new version of Melrose Place coming to the small screen, albeit without the help of the original's out creator, Darren Star.

Lady GaGa "Poker Face" Video

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

There are so many things right with this video, I don't even know where to begin. ...Was that a bit gush-y? OK, I worship at the Haus of GaGa, so maybe I can't be trusted - but "Poker Face" is my favorite The Fame track, so that's kind of a big deal! And I swear this video's objectively amazing - although it's hard to top the opener with its disco mask, animal-istic movements and giants dogs. Brilliant!

Lady GaGa's debut album came out yesterday, and our girl's been hustling the past few days with back-to-back concerts, signings and even opening for those New Kids on The Block. Keep it up, lady!

Uh Huh Her Invades Logo!

400x400_uhhuhher
Uh Huh Her's Leisha & Camila go Logo! Is there some kind of "orange alert" on? What's with the french-fry warming light?

OK. "Invades" is a strong term but the lovely electro-pop/rock duo, Uh Huh Her, brought their black and grey wintery color scheme to Logo's humble offices last evening for a lil' meet and greet with the staff (being MTV's gay stepchild sometimes has its perks!). And Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey (joined by two nice boy musicians) strummed out three of their tunes acoustically for us.

430x300_uhhuhherstorytime
Gather 'round kids! Time for Uh Huh Her's storytime songs!

The whole thing was very "storytime"--like when you'd have music guests come to your kindergarten class and you'd sit on the floor in a circle while they played. Except this time it was Alice from The L Word! I kept hoping that somehow Tasha would appear; she could do security for the band, or be Alice's bodyguard! Instead, MTV News reportista Kim Stolz showed up, looking slim and foxy and not dissing Tyra at all.

Will The Gossip Girls Go Gay?

-- Trish Bendix from AfterEllen.com

Since the debut of Gossip Girl on the CW, there's been a lot of buzz on the Blair and Serena friendship. The loving glances, the make-up hugs, the "S" and "B" nicknames they have for one another — the girls are close, even when they are angry with the other. Their hostility fuels their love-hate relationship, but it seems  possible that in the future, the "love" will win out.

The show's writers must have known about the "gay" Gossip buzz, because they decided to apply it — to Serena's brother, Eric. Woo-hoo, congrats on coming out. Now back to your sister ...

Harry Potter Goes From Dark to Light in The New Trailer

-- Dorothy Snarker from AfterEllen.com

With the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince still more than eight months away, fans are searching for a patience spell until the movie finally starts showing in a theater near you. Over the weekend, the international teaser trailer gave Muggles everywhere a taste to help tide them over. So go ahead and put away the wand, Hermione. Maybe we'll be able to hold out until July without using magic.

The trailer for the sixth installment is darker and more action-packed than the first American trailer released over the summer. The spot includes new footage and many ominous overtones. Things go from dark and creepy to light and kissy in just a minute and a half.

Watch New Mariah Carey "I Stay in Love" Video

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

I almost spit out my drink when I saw what Mariah was wearing in this video: not the booty-shorts when she blows up her car – although those are nice, too – but the full-on Vegas showgirl headdress ... which stays on the whole time! Mimi, Mimi… This was definitely your idea.

Well Smack My Asp! Hugh Jackman May Star in New Musical About ... Cleopatra?

-- snicks from AfterElton.com

Gay fave Hugh Jackman has made some ... interesting career choices, some of which turn out to be triumphant (The Boy from Oz), and some less so (Viva Laughlin). However, one of his possible upcoming projects takes the cake when it comes to sheer "HUH?"-ness.

Catherine Zeta-Jones may return to the genre that brought her the most acclaim in a new big-screen musical (her first, Chicago, won her the Oscar) based on the life of Cleopatra, to be directed by the eclectic Steven Soderbergh:

"For his next directing effort, Steven Soderbergh is plotting a 3-D live-action rock ’n’ roll musical about Cleopatra. He is courting Catherine Zeta-Jones to play the Egyptian queen and Hugh Jackman to play her lover, Marc Antony."

90210 Star Dustin Milligan Swears off "Gay" Jokes

-- Lyle Masaki from AfterElton.com

Dustin Milligan has been showing up on my pop culture RADAR quite a bit lately. Sure, I skipped his first CW series, Runaway, but he was adorable as the gay member of the "Ghostfacers" team on Supernatural and is solid as Nu-Dylan on the revamped 90210.

He further got my attention when I heard that he wrote an entry on his website swearing off gay jokes. Milligan had previously done a couple of short videos meant for the Internet that included a "gay" joke and now regrets that performance:

Amy Sedaris Demonstrates Vagina Cleaning on Chelsea Lately

Chelsea and Chuy are the best thing that ever happened to the E! network - well, Joel McHale is a close second - so if you haven't seen Chelsea's round table discussions of every single Lindsay Lohan-being-a-lesbian update and every idiot statement from Heidi & Spencer, you need to get in on it. Even if you missed Gay Day, or that "topless-ode," Chelsea Lately is made for gay audiences.

She also does celebrity interviews, which can be hit-or-miss, but Friday's talk with Amy Sedaris was priceless. Not only does Amy Sedaris' presence up any show's gay-factor, this appearance was particularly amazing, as Amy demonstrated proper vaginal cleansing using a vagina model gay designer Todd Oldham created for her - for the sole purpose of showing it on Chelsea Lately! Gay Todd loves Chelsea just that much ... I told you about the gays.

Elizabeth Banks Did Not Have a "Lesbian Phase"

-- StuntDouble from AfterEllen.com

USA Today made the gutsy move this weekend of asking actress Elizabeth Banks, "Hey, why aren't you more famous?"

You've seen her before, of course: Spider-Man, Definitely, Maybe, Seabiscuit, 40-year-old Virgin, and lately as Laura Bush in Oliver Stone's W., or working alongside Seth Rogen in Zack and Miri Make a Porno. So, tell us, Elizabeth Banks, why aren't you a household name?

Banks told USA Today:

I don't have a love life that everyone cares about because I've been with the same guy for 16 years. I think we're a great example to people, but it's not interesting. There's no scandal involved. I'm not trying to have Jake Gyllenhaal's baby. I'm not a major fashionista. I'm not going through a lesbian phase. I'm just normal. I'm just really freakin' normal.

Lady GaGa Comes Home to New York for Perez Party & The Fame Release

Ladygaganewyork_10

And these pictures - as ridiculous and amazing as they are - don't even do our girl justice: GaGa's concerts are majorly nuts, I can attest ... or maybe I just have a major gay crush on her. Either way! As part of New York's CMJ music marathon, Perez Hilton (ugh, I know) hosted one of his One Night in... concerts on Friday, and Lady GaGa was the evening's main event. Perez intro-ed GaGa as "the future of pop music," but I greatly preferred the moniker Justin Tranter of Semi Precious Weapons, GaGa's opener, provided: "She's a tranny with a real vagina!" ... such an apt description!

And in other news, GaGa's debut album, The Fame, comes out in the U.S. tomorrow - and you lucky New Yorkers can party with said tranny at the "Haus of GaGa" CD release party tomorrow night. Feee-uz!

I Can't Think Straight Keeps Its Promise

-- Dorothy Snarker from AfterEllen.com

Talk about your truth in advertising. The poster for the new lesbian film I Can't Think Straight indeed has just that effect on a gal. Hello.

International filmmaker and novelist Shamim Sarif, who previously wrote and directed the lesbian drama The World Unseen, helms this story of two women from different backgrounds who fall in love and then must reconcile their relationship with traditional expectations. Lisa Ray (The World Unseen and Water) and Sheetal Sheth (also from The World Unseen and Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World) play the opposites who attract — and do so quite attractively, I might add.

Sam Sparro Performs "Pocket" at Indigo2

Amy Poehler's New Series Will Air This Spring

Amy Poehler had me at, "I'm not like a regular mom; I'm a cool mom." And she claimed me forever with, "Shoot a mother-humpin' moose eight days of the week!"

This summer, I was so stoked when word leaked from the TCA press tour that Poehler was to headline the mythical Office spin-off. That turned out to be only a half-truth. While Poehler will be starring in a new NBC comedy produced by Greg Daniels and written by Mike Schur (both from The Office), it's an entirely new series that has nothing to do with staplers or paper clips.

Mum has been the word on Poehler's new comedy until just this week.

New Keri Hilson Video: "Return The Favor" Ft. Timbaland

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

Keri Hilson's solo album, In a Perfect World..., comes out Dec. 9, and I'm itching for my girl to make it as a performer - not just as Timbaland's protege, not just as a songwriter (although she has to be rolling in it with some of those tracks she's penned). Keri's got the skills, the voice, the looks - along with a million music videos guest spots: Usher, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo... take a look at her repertoire after the jump. So I hope club number "Return The Favor" finally pulls some attention Keri's way.

Keri told NNN.com "Return The Favor" would be the gay favorite of her album, and - not that I've heard the whole thing - I'd say she's right. Keri even channels some Kylie Minogue, which totally works for this ultra-produced, digitized track.

Returnthefavorkerihilson

The vibe of this song recalls Keri's most recognizable work, "The Way I Are," and Keri gives a nod right off the bat. (Remember that? That was me!) And while parts of the Melina-directed video remind me of Rihanna's "S.O.S," I just don't care: "Return The Favor" is so good, I view it as Keri just doing it better. And that body of hers needs to be in a textbook or something!

Don't Bore Lindsay!

Lindsaylohanronsonfashionshow_1

Fashion designer and sister of DJ Samantha, Charlotte Ronson, showed her new line in Japan this week. It was pretty blah, I have to say - even though Lindsay looked cute in one of Charlotte's tops - and I think future Project Runway judge Lohan agrees with me!

In other Lindsay news, Mama Ronson weighed in on that relationship and on its public scrutiny:

"They are a cute couple ... I just think if my daughter is happy I’m happy ... You can't — can’t you have a good old bonding with your other half, and nobody cares? I mean Samantha can handle it. It’s a concern — I’m naturally concerned. As a mother it takes the pleasure away if they get hounded. But it goes with the territory."

Girls Aloud "The Promise" Video

Gay music and video from NewNowNext.com

Maybe it's the Spice Girls phenom, but girl groups are so much bigger in the U.K. than they are in these parts. All we have is my Pussycats, and they have to fight the good fight every day to be taken seriously. It's not right, I tell you! But off the top of my head, the Brits have major musical players in Girls Aloud, Sugababes and The Saturdays... The Girls even came out of a reality show; why can't we do that with Girlicious?

Anyway, "The Promise" - which keeps making me think of The Secret - is the first single from the Girls' fifth studio album, Out of Control. And they are taking the '60s craze and banging me over the head with it. Watch the girls channel Edie Sedgwick, or maybe the Supremes, as they lovingly watch themselves at a drive-in theater.  Where are the white gogo boots?

Styled Out: Is Wearing White Right?

Ysl_tux_1

-- emily hartl from AfterEllen.com

I’ve been completely bombarded by impending nuptials this past week. What with all the rumors swirling around that Samantha and Lindsay have decided to tie the knot (does anyone have factual confirmation on this?) and my girlfriend’s sister announcing her engagement, there’s been a lot of talk about what to wear and when.

Weddings are meant to be personalized and special to the couple committing but it’s easy to make everyone involved highly uncomfortable simply based on what we’re expected to put on the day of the ceremony. As the civil right for all to marry is slowly trickling down through the states, we’re finally being taken seriously on our own “big day,” and we’re also dictating the wardrobe. It’s about time.

Ruby Rose Gets Hounded by The Press

-- Trish Bendix from AfterEllen.com

Australian MTV VJ Ruby Rose is a favorite target of her country's newspapers and tabloids. According to The Daily Telegraph, she's been spotted publicly kissing a different girl each week — and then they interview said girl just to find out there's nothing going on.

Rose is an out lesbian who has been linked most famously to Jess Origliasso of The Veronicas, but she told me in an e-mail recently that she's not involved with her, but that she is "otherwise" involved. Which would make you wonder if the press has gotten it right either time in the last couple of weeks, she was linked to singer Vanessa Amorosi and Australia's Next Top Model contestant, Samantha Downie. (Both say "No.")

Daily Buzz Bits: P!nk Wants You to Think She's Gay

Buzzbitsgaygossippopculture

While Funhouse wasn’t all that fun, P!nk herself is still about the coolest girl on the planet:

“I'm proud people think I'm gay. Everyone has always thought I was gay because of the tattoos, the short hair, the attitude. But I don't care.” – Queerty

Since for some reason she was on her show, Ellen dunked Audrina from The Hills. Well, what else was Ellen going to do with her? Talk to her? ... Didn’t think so. -  Egotastic

Tina Fey spoke with TV Guide about turning SNL into the Tina-Does-Sarah-Palin Show. And Tina even says something nice regarding Gov. Palin’s “perkiness.” – Just Jared

Oh, X-Tina: what to say anymore? Christina's new album comes out Nov. 11, and the art speaks for itself, I guess. But A Decade of Hits? Jeez, we've been dealing with her for a decade? – Hollywood Tuna

Thirteen Gets Lucky With Mixed Results

-- Dorothy Snarker from AfterEllen.com

Um, hi House. Yeah, thing is, I want my 20 seconds back. Yes, those 20 seconds. Yes, I timed them. Those 20 seconds of good stuff. Those 20 seconds you cut from the smoking hot promos compared to what actually aired on American television.

The 20 seconds that include the removal of tops, unbuttoning of pants, kissing of stomachs and breathless, carnal uttering of something like “come here.”

Don't be coy with me. You know you cut them. They looked like this.

Uh-Oh! Whitney's The City Spin-off Looks Kind of Boring!

...Not that The City's origin show, The Hills - well, that was a spin-off too, now that I think about it - has been a thrill-ride this season either... other than Audrina taking off her top (at least someone's livening up her character!). But yes, the trailer for The City - a spin-off I've been praying for, actually - is here, but it doesn't look like The City has much to offer. I did pray, because I, for some gay reason, worship Whitney. But now I wonder if my girl can carry a show herself; her lame futon-joke friend certainly can't.

For now I'll hold out for Kelly Cutrone and that ridiculous-looking Olivia Palermo ... but there are just certain kind-of-real-soap-opera staples I've come to expect, and I just know Whitney will never load on the mascara and force a few tears at just the right moment, Lauren Conrad-style. Look at the trailer: Whitney doesn't even let that hot Australian guy kiss her on-camera. Um, real actors follow the script, Whitney!

But who am I kidding? I still love her...

-- Brian Juergens from AfterElton.com

An enterprising (wait, that's the wrong sci-fi series, isn't it...) blogger named smirnoffmule had camera at the ready at a recent Torchwood convention and reveals that when the randy omnisexual alien-hunters are off-screen ... they're just as randy and omnisexual.

Lots more ... um ... stimulating pics after the jump. (huge t/y to Tessa for the tip!)
