Uh Huh Her Invades Logo!
Uh Huh Her's Leisha & Camila go Logo! Is there some kind of "orange alert" on? What's with the french-fry warming light?
OK. "Invades" is a strong term but the lovely electro-pop/rock duo, Uh Huh Her, brought their black and grey wintery color scheme to Logo's humble offices last evening for a lil' meet and greet with the staff (being MTV's gay stepchild sometimes has its perks!). And Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey (joined by two nice boy musicians) strummed out three of their tunes acoustically for us.
Gather 'round kids! Time for Uh Huh Her's storytime songs!
The whole thing was very "storytime"--like when you'd have music guests come to your kindergarten class and you'd sit on the floor in a circle while they played. Except this time it was Alice from The L Word! I kept hoping that somehow Tasha would appear; she could do security for the band, or be Alice's bodyguard! Instead, MTV News reportista Kim Stolz showed up, looking slim and foxy and not dissing Tyra at all.
Leisha and Camila played a happy acoustic version of their lead single "Not a Love Song," and then zipped right into "Wait Another Day" and they wrapped it up with their debut album's title track, "Common Reaction." Then folks cozied up for chit-chat and iPhone pics.
Today, UHH are coming back to MTV & Logo to do some sassy interviews, so be on the lookout for more video goodness from them soon.
But, really... It was all I could do not to make a big posterboard sign at my desk and hold it up saying "I Love You, Alice!" or "L is for Leisha! WORD!" But I refrained. I just hope this means that Pam Grier or Jennifer Beals will be coming by tomorrow. If not, I can still go catch Uh Huh Her's show here in NYC tonight at Irving Plaza.
And you can watch the full-on video for "Not a Love Song" here. Boing!
