2009 Thanksgifting Holiday Gift Guide: Books by Funny Women like Kathy, Chelsea, Lisa... And Sarah.

By Selena Watkins

Welcome back to our Thanksgifting holiday gift guide. Yes, turkey day is less than a week away. EEEK! And to get your holiday shopping started, we've got more fun ideas for stuff to buy. This time, books! (Yes, people still read them. Or at least they give them to each other.)

Obviously, a good book is a classic necessity for train rides and plane rides, when there's nothing on TV, when you can't fall sleep or when you want to ignore the people around you. Soooooo handy!

And because of technology, you don't have to carry around a whole book shelf every time you hit the road. Well, that is, whoever you are buying for this holiday season won't have to...

1. The Amazon Kindle

If you have no idea what the Kindle is, you’re out of the loop. It’s like an iPod, for your books.

Basically, you don’t have to turn the page anymore, at least not physically. You can purchase books for a cheaper price than you would in a bookstore, download them to your Kindle and Voila! Every book you buy is right there on your hand held device.

I know, I almost peed myself when I first heard about it too. I don’t know if this makes us lazier than ever as a society, or extremely cool...

Majority rules. It’s cool. And whoever you buy it for will be too.

Gift

And if digital books are a little bogus to you, a regular book with real pages is always a great gift. Check out some of these funny ladies, after the jump (Hint: Kathy! Chelsea! Lisa! Sarah???):

Greetings! We last left you with some dazzling, sparkly items we found online and a series of fragrances that were to die for, so what better way to continue this series of awesome apparel and paraphernalia than with some BLING!!!?? Recession who? The holidays are all about "sparkle!!!"

300x300_RockPendant

Micro Pave Sterling Silver Guitar Rock Star Pendant

Of all the guitar-shaped items we researched, this one stood out. It literally looks as if some guy just chiseled a block of Sterling silver into this cool, futuristic, metallic, glittery mini-masterpiece. The company’s website offers a variety of similarly awesome merch.

2009 Thanksgifting Holiday Gift Guide: Who Wants to Smell Like Diddy? Plus, Other Celeb Fragrances...

Beckhamsig2

Seasons Greetings!

Hopefully we've already gotten your brains stirring with some crazy gift ideas. If you're still simmering though, it's okay, we've got more...

It’s crazy to think that celebrities make mondo bucks off of their fragrance lines, but they really do. And you’re probably wondering who really buys this stuff. We’ve all wondered too, and then we all purchased some as gifts.

In most cases, we are soooooo not trying to give someone that hint that they smell. You just pick up the biggest fragrance kit ever at the last minute and wrap it in pretty paper, right?

Well, that’s why celebrity fragrances are handy presents. Who does wanna smell like the hot primal essence (or torso or armpit) of your loved one’s favorite celebrity?

1. Justin Timberlake for Givenchy

This year, pick up Justin Timberlake’s new scent. He is the face of luxe label Givenchy’s newest masculine fragrance “Play.” It’s kind of amusing because the discrete bottle resembles an mp3 player. It’s perfect if he (or she) is a music lover. Or if they don't have an iPod and they think you gave them one. Ha-har! Joke's on them!

Wanna Live? Just Press Play...

2009 Thanksgifting Holiday Gift Guide: Things That Sparkle, Dazzle & Shine

Vintage-Gaga-Sunglasses-(2)

The holidays are coming! Rather than bore you with a typical holiday list that mentions items you’re bound to buy anyway, we've compiled a small list of four items we found online that were just too-cool-to-be true.

Vintage Lady Gaga Poker Face Just Dance Sunglasses

As pictured above, these glasses exude hot-pink savvyness with a tidy mix of sharp, too-cool-for-school brashness: the equivalent of wearing a neon sign on your face that advertises how awesome you are. Also comes in Black and White.

Rave Disco Neon Pink Light-Up Poker Sunglasses

A company called Atomic (proper name) actually sells these neon light-up poker sunglasses in a variety of colors. But pink's where it’s at! And besides sporting a long, bizarre title that reads like a horrendous Japanese translation of a product that shouldn't exist, these glasses are simply the shiznit (and for some weird reason, they remind me of slap bracelets).
