Jenny Lewis: Singer, songwriter ... filmmaker?

Jenny Lewis is quite the multi-tasker. The singer/actor/musician is about to add filmmaker to her already impressive repertoire. The Rilo Kiley front-woman has made a pretty successful alt-country/folk solo career for herself and will be putting put a documentary film called Welcome to Van Nuys, which focuses on the making of her album Acid Tongue, which was released last September.

Welcome to Van Nuys will  include behind-the-scenes footage of recording the album at Sound City Studio (in Van Nuys, California, of course), as well as loads of live concert footage. And, as though putting out a film wouldn't keep her busy enough, Lewis has just announced new tour dates including a headlining tour and appearances at Coachella, Bonnaroo and Telluride Bluegrass festivals.
