Night of 1,000 Stevies Enchants Again

Last Friday night I grabbed my lace shawl and headed down to the legendary Night of 1000 Stevies at New York’s High Line Ballroom. At the risk of sounding a little dramatic (me? dramatic? No way!), this is one of the greatest nightlife events of all time. If you even like Stevie Nicks a little and have the opportunity to attend a NOTS in the future you should. I brought a friend with me who was not a huge Stevie fan and guess what…now she is.
From the moment I walked in and heard the opening chords of "Rhiannon" until the moment I left (at the very end, naturally), the room was full of enchanted magical energy. The place was packed, but that was never an issue. Everyone was so nice and so in tune with each other that waiting for a drink or making my way through the tight crowd became fun. Everyone was there for the same reason and was feeling the same Stevie vibe. It’s really beautiful. And don't even get me started on the gorgeous costumes... So many beautiful "girls" dressed as Stevie. Machine Dazzle's many dove'd hat was, as expected, a work of art (see more pictures after the jump!).
Macine Dazzle, front and back! Dazzling!!!!
Major kudos to Chi Chi Valenti and Johnny Dynell for continuing to create such a wonderful night. I left loving life, loving New York and loving Stevie Nicks even more than I did before (which I didn’t think was possible).
The performances throughout the night were all amazing, but here are some stand-outs for me:
Jessica Rabbit Domination and crew doing "Stand Back." So sexy, so rocking, so Stevie, so fantastic.
Mia and Adam’s Landslide. Adam sang beautifully and Mia played the classical harp. Yes, I said classical harp, darling. Amazing.
Logo favorite Adam Joseph singing “Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You”…such a sweet voice and I’m a sucker for that song!
Amber debuts her own Fleetwood Mac tribute.
NOTS singing virgin Amber Martin and band doing some song off a live Fleetwood album that was never on a studio album…I don’t even know it! Such an Amber thing to choose a lesser known gem (she’ll school you right!), and, of course, she unquestionably BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN.
Last but not least, the LEGENDARY Sweetie interpreting "Rhiannon." Work. Genius. Nuff said.
Sweetie + Rhiannon = Brilliance.
Many years ago, Chi Chi coined the term “nightlife utopia”. For me and everyone else in the room, the Night of 1000 Stevies was just that.
And just more Stevie pics...

a Classic Stevie's homage...
More general Stevie realness... Boys need some lace, too!

P.S. Chi Chi mentioned that the real Stevie may show up for next year’s 20th anniversary. I think there’s a real possibility that the room will spontaneously combust and explode, but I can’t wait to be there in the flames!
Fans love NOTS. Bring on Stevie for herself for #20! Photo by Zazoo & Santori.
It was an honor for me to make my NOTS debut this year as well! Amazing article!!!
