Halloween Dog Days: Pooches in Costume! Awwwww...
"You wouldn't like me when I'm angry..."
Last Sunday my pal Marc and I went to the annual East Village Halloween Dog Parade in Tompkins Square Park, where it was a mob scene of canine costumery. There was a big contest and I have no idea who won, but these guys were our faves.
After the jump are about a zillion more pics. And more at FocusOnStyle.com, too. Need a costume idea for your pooch? Have a look!
And I gotta say, most of the pooches there seem to be having a great time. Especially, the lovable green Incredible Hunk (above). He was smiling (dogs can smile, right?) and bursting out of his jean shorts with pride. Grrrrrrr!
Enjoy!

It's World Series time in NYC. Go Yanks! Hope the interview went well.
There was a veritable swarm of dogs in bee costumes. All were pretty cute...
...but this little guy deserves a closer look. SOOOOOOO CUUUUUUTE.
This lady had a basket full of stuffed pups. But one wasn't stuffed. Yet.
Dachshund dressed as a blue serrated knife? Oh, er... A dragon?
Gayest biker dog, ever?
And this one was rocking glasses, glittery socks and all kinds of clubby duds. His owner said "sometimes he just likes to wear the glasses all weekend around the house." Wurk.
Okay, this one's not really in costume. But it's my pal Marc's pup Kodos, posing with some nice seasonal pumpkins.
Not sure if this is supposed to be a dog dressed as a lobster or a dog dressed as an extra in a 1950's horror movie about an attack of the Lobster Men.
Painted on! Very early Keith Haring-performance artist...
Panda Pooch!!!
Prisoner of Love.
Exactly.
And another Skeleton Pup, just 'cuz he's sooooo darned sweet looking.
Finally, I call this one "BeeWare of Dog!!!
Happy Howl-oween! (Gack.)
