New Music That Should Be On Your Radar: Alphabeat

Alphabeat's new single, "The Spell" released October 19th

Okay, so I've been in the closet for quite sometime and now I'm ready to officially come out and say it... I LOVE POPPY EUROPEAN MUSIC! A lot. Abba, Alcazar, Kylie Minogue, Sugababes, Spice Girls... I'm into anything fun with strong female vocals. Having worked at MTV previously I was more conservative about who I revealed my iTunes playlists to but now that I'm working for Logo I have no shame!

Any who, a friend of mine sent me the new Alphabeat Single, "The Spell" with a note that said, "this music just sounds like you." And well, I have to agree. This single reminds me of the early 90's during the super fabulous days of Gloria Estefan and Taylor Dayne (my gaydom started at an early age). Love, love, love. Having done some crafty Google searches and general internet sleuthing I've located several other tracks all of which I enjoyed; If you get the chance check out "DJ" and "Heat Wave." Moral of the story, this is fun new music from a band that is certainly no stranger to New Now Next, we blogged about them in 2007 too. Too poppy? Too fun? Or too perfect? Let us know.

And finally, the accompanying music video for "The Spell"
