Drag Race Daily: More Pandora Boxx! An Exit Interview Follow-Up!

Pandora Boxx: Gone from the Drag Race but very much NOT forgotten.

All this past week the world of RuPaul’s Drag Race fans has been tossed all topsy-turvy following the elimination of Pandora Boxx from the show. Bloggers like JoeMyGod expressed “heartbreak,” and bigtime showbiz journalists like the crew at Entertainment Weekly declared that the best queen had left the building. Injustice? Outrage! Bewilderment?

So, with all the hue and cry, it seemed like a good time to check back in with Ms. Boxx herself and see how she’s been weathering the storm. I zipped some follow-up questions to the departed diva (who’s been in L.A. performing this past week) and here’s what she had to say about getting her sashaying orders and the aftermath.

P.S. Catch Pandora onstage with Jujubee tonight (4/5) at Micky’s in West Hollywood; and tomorrow night (4/6) at Rage with Shannel for the Dreamgirls show. Glamour!!!

Read the Q&A after the jump!

Pandora by artist Alan Defibaugh; via her Facebook page.

So, what’s this past week been for you? Your fans have spoken out, haven’t they? Any fun/weird in-person encounters?
It’s been an incredible week! I totally thought this week was going to suck since I knew it was my elimination week. Also, I knew how pissed off I was that I was eliminated so I was afraid of how I looked leaving the show. I was hoping people would be a little upset but I had no idea it would be like this. Having Entertainment Weekly say that I was their America’s Next Drag Superstar is like getting a reach-around from Taylor Lautner… Wait, he’s 18 now, isn’t he? I don’t want to get arrested or anything.

If you were to get a show of your own on TV, what would you like it to be?
It would be the most amazing show on Earth! Ha! Seriously though, I think it would be either a faux-reality show about my life or a variety/talk/sketch comedy show. An hour of Boxx on your box. Fabu!

If you were to win Miss Congeniality (fans can vote at RuPaulsDragRace.com, on the lower right of the page), how would you celebrate?
I would make out with everyone who voted for me! Hopefully, that doesn’t make people stop voting! Ha!

Kathy Griffin and her protege, Ms. Boxx. Or is that vice versa?

Have any celebs contacted you? Reached out to you about how big of fans they are, etc?
Kathy Griffin gave me a shout out on her Twitter! Chi Chi LaRue and Jackie Beat both twatted me. Jack Mackenroth from Project Runway said he loved me, gasp and swoon! A lot of the gals from Season 1 have contacted me too. Alec Mapa said I was robbed! [Sirius OutQ radio's] Derek and Romaine are livid with my elimination!

Do you think your life will change? I know you’ve been in L.A. working. Do you think you’ll head back to Rochester and resume your former life?
It has changed definitely. I am now doing drag as my full time job which is not something I thought I would be doing last year. I was ready to quit if something didn’t change! And boy has it! I am still living in Rochester for now. My boyfriend and I have talked about moving to LA though. I’m going to go where the opportunities are… Wherever they are!

What advice for aspiring drag queens can you offer?
Stay true to yourself. Find out what makes you different from every other queen. And be real about yourself. If you’ve got your head so far up your own ass you will never see the light.

What did you think of how the last episode looked on-air? And how about how your drag mother came across, with her dirty jokes, the bikini and your talk about the dildo in his pants? Any thoughts on all that?
I honestly felt I looked the best that I had in the entire season. I also think my drag mom and I had a fabulous number. I planned everything, so I don’t think she upstaged me. I told her what to do! My drag mom was something else! He’s a nice guy. Even if he’s a dirty bird! I think Litter Boxx came across exactly how he wanted to. He wanted to make a splash on television and he most certainly did.

Watch Pandora and mama Litter Boxx rock the stage in their full performance.

Anything else???
Thanks to everyone who has messaged me! I’m so overwhelmed with all the love! I can’t thank everyone enough!

Awe…Pandora! I was so bummed when you were cut! I thought you were the one with great looks, sense of fashion, and a wonderful sense of humor (loved the Carol Channing). You should have won.

I think that you’ve got what the other contestants lacked…star quality. You’re the whole package. What makes you special…what sets you apart and makes you memorable, is your humor. I sense people will want to watch you just to see what you’ll do next, and not to see how pretty you are. Keep it up. Your star is definitely rising!
