#40ToNoneDay: What You Can Do To Help End LGBT Youth Homelessness

Pitch in by posting a selfie. Seriously.

5 Dollars/5 Minutes is a regular feature to help direct you to simple, inexpensive ways to act against discrimination and to protect the rights of the LGBT community—and all people—endangered by the Trump administration.

According to the National Conference of State Legislature (NCSL), 20-40% of homeless youth identify as LGBT. The True Colors Fund has been trying to end this epidemic since it was founded in 2008 by Cyndi Lauper.

Today is #40toNoneDay, the Fund’s annual day devoted to raising awareness about LGBT youth homelessness and providing easy ways to make a difference.

Got Five Minutes?

Take an "unselfie": Simply download an “unselfie” sign here, take a photo of you holding it, and post with the hashtag #40toNoneDay. We’re all guilty of taking too many selfies—you might as well snap one more that really counts!

Got $5?

Make a donation to the True Colors Fund or the Ali Forney Center and help bring the LGBT homeless youth rate down to zero.
