What’s next for ex-X-Factor judge Britney Spears? Apparently not headlining at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. We’d have liked to see her end up there, so we’re feeling a little betrayed (Et tu, Caesars?). Ah, well. We’ll have to wait and see where she ends up, but in the meantime, here are 5 celebs we’d like to see take her spot.
It’s increasingly starting to seem like Lindsay Lohan will do anything for some money, and with The Canyons not exactly taking off, Vegas could be next. We’re not sure exactly what her act would entail…maybe yelling at strangers?
2. Eddie Murphy
His recent career can make it easy to forget that Eddie Murphy started out as one of the funniest comics of all time. We’d love to see him return to his roots by headlining at Caesars – besides, anything that distracts him from making more movies is a good thing.
Having sung at the presidential inauguration and the Super Bowl, Beyonce is undoubtedly at the top of her game. We’d probably have to wait about 30 years before she’d even consider a Vegas gig, but, come on, it’s Beyonce – we’ll wait.
4. Jane Krakowski
Now that 30 Rock is over (sob!), we’d love to see Jane Krakowski meld with her onscreen persona Jenna Maroney and book a gig at Caesars. Though they made fun of her singing all the time on 30 Rock, she’s actually got a great voice. We’d be in the front row, shouting out requests for “Muffin Top.”
5. Joe Biden
Maybe not the most likely contender, but as The New York Times points out, we’re living in the dawning of the age of Biden. He’s passionate, energetic and hilarious – sometimes intentionally. Come on, who wouldn’t shell out a few bucks to see him belt out a couple of songs?
