After 5 Seconds of Summer found out they’d been nominated for a MTV Video Music Award for Artist to Watch, bassist Calum Hood tweeted that the boys would go pantless for their VMA performance.

“What an honour to be playing and to have a nomination at the VMAs!” he tweeted “Definitely not going to wear pants that day.”

The vow isn’t completely out of left field: Luke Hemmings has said his favorite album of all time is Blink-182′s Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, and the Aussie punk-pop quartet’s current tour is called the Pants Down tour.
