50 Cent Pops Up In Philadelphia Gay Club

Despite the rapper's history of homophobia, he made a special appearance in the city's "Gayborhood."

50 Cent was spotted at Voyeur Nightclub in Philadelphia's Gayborhood over the weekend, but don't fear for his homophobic reputation just yet — he was only there to promote his vodka line.

The rapper made an appearance to spread the word about his Effen vodka brand, and the bar owners used his visit to help them with their attempt to be more inclusive after being accused of having a racist dress code earlier this year.

Patrons of the bar definitely noticed the venue's new vibe for the evening, telling G Philly that it felt "like a black club up in here," but many wondered why they chose 50 Cent — who is not only straight, but known for being homophobic — to be the headliner.

The rapper has made infamous anti-gay statements in the past, from saying he "ain't into faggots" back in 2004 to most recently blasting Empire for having too much "gay stuff" on the show.

50 Cent has made more homophobic statements than he has made hit songs in the past decade, so it seemed strange to spot him at a gay bar. But apparently when it comes to promoting his vodka line, he's willing to make an inclusive exception.
