Jamie Dornan is pretty much sex on legs, so its surprising he needs help getting into the mood to shoot raunchy scenes. But the 50 Shades of Grey star revealed he watches Sex and City to get his juices pumping before the camera' is rolling.

Hmm, not the typical choice of a red-blooded heterosexual man—then again, Dornan is Irish.

“Joe and I watched all the Sex and the City box sets—twice," he told The Sun. “That helped.”

Is this what our straight guy friends do when they tell us they're watching "the game"? Because we really feel left out.

New Worlds is a historical drama set during the Restoration period of the turbulent 1680s. It looks like something of a bodice ripper, and Dornan used Carrie and Co. to get worked up.

He also had to shave his head for the part, in order to accommodate a wig. We're pretty sure even a mullet couldn't make Jamie Dornan look anything less than ravishing.

New Worlds airs April 1 on UK Channel 4.
