At this weekend’s New York Comic Con, Warner Bros unveiled new sizzle reels for Arrow and The Flash. We may still be processing the two superhero shows’ debuts last week.
The new Flash trailer reveals Jay Garrick’s warning for Barry. Now that the singularity have connected Jay and Barry’s Earths, they both will have to deal with Zoom who will kill his way to becoming the only one with super speed. We also get hints at what’s coming up on spin-off series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Meanwhile Arrow’s trailer shows Thea getting out of control in her as Speedy, Felicity with a gun and a couple of new arrivals in Star City.
There’s plenty to get excited about but here are the seven moments we had to keep rewatching:
Martin Stein gets more of those Firestorm powersWarner Bros. TV
Why is Professor Stein (Victor Garber) getting his flame on, wasn’t that Ronnie’s job when the two were merged? It’s looking like his powers are going to evolve a bit before Legends of Tomorrow so he won’t just be debating science with Ray Palmer.
Malcolm Merlyn is not done yetWarner Bros. TV
Malcom Merlyn (John Barrowman) might have promised Thea he would stay away from Star City before taking over the League of Assassins but he’ll be keeping himself busy while he’s keeping his distance.
Barry meets the future HawkgirlWarner Bros. TV
Among the reasons to have a nerd meltdown over Legends of Tomorrow is that it will be introducing a bunch of characters who have never been on TV before, including Kendra Saunders (Clara Renée) who is about to learn about her complicated past lives as Hawkgirl.
Captain Cold is not getting any nicerWarner Bros. TV
We’ve been asking ever since we heard he would be part of Legends of Tomorrow, how will Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) function as part of a team of heroes? It doesn’t look like he’ll be losing his sense of snark anytime soon.
Why hello there, John ConstantineWarner Bros. TV
While Constantine was a bust, Matt Ryan’s performance of the roguish magician made him an instant fan-favorite. He’s headed to Arrow and our first sight starts with him putting out a cigarette. (Of course) Let’s hope this time John’s bisexuality is acknowledged. Considering the history of the Arrow /Flash creative team. chances look good.
Felicity meets Curtis HoltWarner Bros. TV
Felicity is getting a new gay pal this season, Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), who is making his first appearance this week. Curtis is set to become one of Star City’s heroes, Mister Terrific. In the comics, Mister Terrific uses technology in his battles. It sounds like Felicity is going to have someone to talk to when she wants to get her nerd on.
Oliver and Barry’s continued camaraderieWarner Bros. TV
Considering everything he faces in Star City, Oliver needs someone in his life who can make him laugh. It turns out Barry fills that role nicely.
Those are the moments we’ll be revisiting for the next day or so until we get a new episode. What are the sizzle reel moments that have you skipping back?
