“Mother always told me to leave them wanting a little floor…”

As the music fades in, you slowly realize. It’s just you and the pole. And you’re dancing for your life. This week, the gals over at RuPaul’s Drag Race did their best Nomi Malone impressions, and worked up on some poles. Sadly, one of the ladies was sent back to where they came from: “DIFFERENT PLACES!@#$!” Or actually, a little bit south of that. Want to find out who went where?

Give me a single, click through the jump, brace yourself for SPOILERS and let’s keep this blog party going, shall we?

The Robert Verdi Show Premieres Wednesday on Logo, But It Hits NYC Tonight! Glam! Bam! Ouch!

The new queens of comedy? Kathy & Robert 4ever!

Fashion freaks and reality-TV loons take note: The Robert Verdi Show Starring Robert Verdi debuts this coming Wednesday night on Logo at 10pm EST. Woo-hoo! But tonight in NYC there’s a big, splashy red-carpet premiere happening in Chelsea at about 7:30pm. Celebs are coming. Designers are coming! Media whores will be scraping for photo ops. What’s not to love?

Among those expected are SNL’s Kristen Wiig, who may be my favorite funny woman ever. Or at least right now. I’m going to the shindig tonight so I’ll snap pics and take notes and report back. Hopefully I’ll end up sandwiched between Donatella Versace and Miss Piggy in a bathroom stall doing bumps of Emergen-C, but who can say?

To get primed, watch the show’s trailer below!

Matt Morris Gives You Some “Love,” Hits Kentucky Today & Heads to Denver!

Matt Morris is still climbing upwards on his quest towards world domination. His duet with Justin Timberlake’s on Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” at the Hope for Haiti Now telethon last month is now #13 on Billboad’s Hot 100 Singles chart. And last Thursday he performed his tune “Love” to screaming mobs on Lopez Tonight (see above!), and today he’s got a gig in Kentucky with Brandi Carlile. He’s everywhere…

Matt nabs a nice self pic in NYC last month. Awwww!

I love it when good things happen to nice people. Need more Matt? Head to his Matt’s great Week in Review posts on Tumblr to watch him perform at the Gibson (as in guitars) Music Showcase. It’s sooooo nice!

You can also follow Matt on Twitter at @MattMorris, and if you’re in Denver (Matt’s hometown) you can catch him at the Bluebird Theater on February 25th. Go Matt, go!

After the jump, watch Matt perform his tune “The Un-American.” So good.

Ben Whishaw Discusses Sexual Politics And ‘The Pride’

Ben Whishaw and Hugh Dancy Share a Kiss in The Pride

The Pride, now playing at the Lucille Lortel theater in New York, stars Hugh Dancy and Ben Whishaw as lovers in two different time periods. Ben Whishaw, who recently drew attention for appearing out of the closet in an Out Magazine profile and closeted in New York Magazine, has apparently not grown wary of reporters. Today, an article in The Times explored the themes of his current play as well as his beliefs about sexual identity and art.

The Times writes: “With the people I like as artists there is an intrigue, and you want to know what they are really like,” he said in deflecting the inquiry about his own sexual identity. “But I think it’s essential for there to be some distance and privacy. It’s hard for it to remain an imaginative engagement if you know you’re watching a guy onstage who’s sleeping with — whoever. I find that puts up a wall.”

Don’t worry, Ben. You have nothing to fear about people ending their “imaginary engagements” with you. Mine’s still going strong and two people have already bought things off our registry at The Container Store. The Pride plays at the Lucille Lortel theater through March 20th.
