A "Hamilton"/"Sweeney Todd" Mashup Is The Stuff Of Broadway Dreams

"On Fleet Street, clean sweep, cut ‘em all down."

Theater aficionados, this one's for you.

Broadway's Hamilton has certainly been the show on everybody's lips this past year, and the company just reached another milestone by taking top honors at the 30th annual Easter Bonnet Competition.

The event is the celebration after six weeks of spring fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and the cast scored big by transforming their opening number into an homage to Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd.

The Hamilton company had the crowd cheering for their unique mashup of "Alexander Hamilton," which switched things up by having Lin-Manuel Miranda featured as the “demon barber of Fleet Street."
