What I expected to see on last night’s “A-List: New York” Reunion Special (Part 1!): Austin fussing with Derek, Austin and Nyasha fussing at each other, host Wendy Williams smirking throughout, TJ popping in and getting sassy, and Rodiney looking fine.
And yes, I got all of those things. What I got that I WASN’T expecting: Discussions of capitalistic greed, Nyasha sort of snapping at Mike Ruiz, wacky accounts of racism and homophobia, and the occasional acknowledgement that these boys (and girl) sort of behave one way for the cameras and another way off-screen. Not that that’s shocking, but it’s funny they’d let that get mentioned.
Does this mean the “A-List: New York” is getting meta as Season 2 ends? WATCH!
And yes, I couldn’t help but slip on my spurs and chaps (Okay, really just a cowboy hat and silly shirt.) to give a gentlemanly nod to “The A-List: Dallas.” I’m already mildly obsessed with the show. Coming on the deadly stiletto heels of the “A-List: New York” this Dallas spin-off is a breezy shot of swagger and fun.
And in case you need a bit more Dallas background, enjoy the clip below and brush up on your Dallas trivia. Cheers, y’all!
Be sure to tune in next Monday, October 17th at the special time of 9pm for Part 2 of the A-List: New York Reunion Special. (Yes, 9pm ET!!!) And then settle in for Episode 2 of “The A-List: Dallas” at its new regular weekly time of 10pm ET Mondays.
And just because it’s amusing and shameless…
